I fear McCabe is going to piss Chris off with various different aspects of his tenure and he'll end up walking.

So it isn't going to be a better decision to go with the 30% is it?
Rather set yourself up for a fall there.

I set myself up for a fall? Really? You pretended it was unanimous. I pointed out it wasn’t. Over half doesn’t mean it’s unanimous no matter what world you live in. As I say, perhaps you struggle with the English language.

As for it being a good idea to go with the 30%, I would say it most certainly isn’t a good idea to ride roughshod over the new manager in releasing players based on a guesstimate that 70% of supporters want rid of those players with no consideration for how the manager might rate them, see a different role for them where he thinks they can perform, how it might affect the squad and the manager’s authority in the dressing room etc.

The child-like simplicity in the way you see things might almost be charming if you didn’t have such an unjustified stench of arrogance coming through with it. That’s what makes you come across as our equivalent of Mark the Pitsmoor Pillock rather than the innocent young child on the phone in stating the bleeding obvious and receiving the proverbial pat on the head.

Assuming you're not taking the piss, I do hope not.
A perfect example of what a knowledgable board could have avoided.

Again, are you saying the board should have authority over player recruitment? How do you propose it should work. Boardroom of business men who think they know their football overruling the manager? DoF in place to make footballing decisions above the manager? Committee of 2,3,4 football people (ex-managers etc.) to make decisions on player recrtuitment/ retention?

Personally, I have no problem with Edgar being offered a deal but would be disappointed if the other two stay on. I’m sure others will have different opinions though. See how it’s not unanimous?

You tried disproving "unanimous" by stating that it was "70-30" instead.
Now you're saying that because it's 70-30 and not unanimous, that some how justifies going with the minority i.e the 30.
Which a daft little argument.
You might want to get yourself untangled and figure out what it actually is you think you're arguing about before continuing any further.

Could you please tell me where I have said go with the majority?

I didn't did I?

I think you've been getting confused again. I simply said that because 70% of fans would get rid of a player, that doesn't justify the board taking the decision out of the manger's hands unless we are to be run by committee with football people on the board and instead of a manager, having a head coach (a la the pigs and several other clubs). As we are not set up that way and have relative autonomy in the managerial hotseat, your point (the board should do xyz....) is utter bollocks which is par for the course.

Obviously we should always encourage the board to go with the majority of what United fans think, because we're always consistent, unequivocal, and certainly not prone to knee-jerk reactions. That's why when fans were overwhelmingly negative in response to the signings of The Chief, HMS etc it was right that the board immediately terminated their contracts.

Most of the fans didn't rate Murphy or Evans after their first season. I don't think fans should ever be used as a judge. We see the players once or twice per week. We have no idea what's going on behind the scenes.

Can I just add that this "70-30" you completely made up off the top of your head.

If we are cutting the wage bill, we won't be offering Edgar what he was paid last night. I think he ll be looking for the MLS to offer him something.

i think it is actually 4 right .

Edgar, Flynn to stay Mceveley and Hammond to go.

my mistake.
Just a few bits of info that people will want to know.

Mceverley gone

Hammond offered a deal
Flynn offered a deal
Edgar offered a deal

Mac gone. Right

Hammond offered deal. Wrong
Flynn offered deal. Right
Edgar offered deal. Right.

So, if your information is correct, three right, one wrong.

Well said, but these guys are the worst I've seen for a long long time. I reckon the post-Spackman signings of Ian Hamilton, Jonathon Cunt and Darren Bullock etc. weren't as bad as these lot.

I really don't get how anyone could say they would keep paying James Wallace to play football at SUFC. How many games has he managed for us? For Shrewsbury? Its ridiculous.

I havent seen Cuvelier create one chance in his cameos this season.

Both players are incapapable of playing 40+ games a season. Which is what we need.

Also, we need midfield players who can batter their way through the opposition and shoot, pass, create, etc. We have needed big, nasty lads for a while, Wallace and Cuvelier don't fit the bill.

Both skillful players who have been injured and lost their way somehow. Time to go.

Makes me wonder..... "Sunjihai" on here had mentioned Wilder was coming in a while ago. Could it be that the deal for him to come to SUFC had been in the bag for a few weeks and he and Knill have already been lining players up and deciding who was on the way out?

Sounds a bit far fetched but if the rumours of widescale butchery are true, I assume he has people waiting in the wings?

I love the idea of "widescale butchery" in relation to our senior squad .......... its what the wasters have needed for 3 years !! ;)

You have got 2 correct the other 2 totally wrong.

Edgar and Flynn will be here next season the other 2 defo wont.....

You are like the grim reaper. Do you ever post any positive information, or lets just hope that you talk complete and utter bo@@ox!

It's a given the other two won't be here, but dogsh@t Flynn & Edgar would also be a disgrace.

I think we'll come to an agreement with Brayford. He want to play at a higher level and unlikely to get it with us next season. We need his wages off the wage bill. Suits both to mutually terminate. He'll easily get a club if a free agent. It means Kev gets nothing back on his investment but doesn't cost him money to pay him off or keep paying wages. I'm guessing McNulty won;t be on a high wage and easily moved on. I hope he pays Coutts up and boot him out the door. The other two, I don't know. Fleetwood may be prepared to go for Scougs. I'd like Done to stay but he'll get suitors from league 1.

If the rumours are correct then CW will need to bring in 10/11 new players. That's a difficult ask with almost no budget.

But he will have a budget ......

The players who are out of contract will mostly be on decent wages which will be freed up by releasing them. Plus; if we pay-up ineffective players like Coutts, Woolford, Done, Scougal, or transfer them if we can find a buyer, this frees up even more budget.

That should give plenty of scope for recruiting a decent, competitive senior squad for next season, if we have a blend of season-long loans, free agents and permanent transfers.

The budget you're using to pay up players?

We spent £500k last year. Sure, we will be paying less wages but we need to pay a lot out to get the likes of Coutts off the bill.

Now we have ITKs disagreeing with each other... There is no end to this madness.

p.s. I am proper ITK and were signing Luke Chadwick.

Lot of pretend ITK's that feed off the information of others and pass it off as inside knowledge too.

You can usually tell these as they hedge their bets so that whatever happens they can pretend to be 'right'.
