Northampton players

In terms of playing style he seems to favour 4-2-3-1, but has also used 4-4-2. Northampton have played with high tempo and look to create and choose forward passing options, with quick forward movement into space as soon as they win the ball. Their counter attacking has been a strength. From what I've read, Wilder's playing style seems similar to Leicester's this season.

Well that's pissed off Pinchy.

Doesn't seem that likely he'll raid Northampton as he's never been back to old clubs previously.

Smith will be out of our range
He doesn't seem to like JJ all that much
The most likely seems to be that concrete defender.

Funnily enough, I wondered about that only yesterday and checked on Soccerbase. I've forgotten who, but he did take three players from Oxford, one of whom was a 33 year old goalkeeper, but who hardly played as he brought Smith in as well.

What struck me was that apart from a few local youngsters, all the players he brought in were lower league journeymen, I don't think any of his signings were dropping down from the Championship.

He seems to have favoured lower cost options and nothing wrong with that if they fit his style and work hard.

"Concrete Rod", sounds like a gangsters henchman or a nick name for Viagra

It was only a year ago that O'Toole was transfer listed by Wilder based on the fact it hadn't worked out initially following his move to Northampton.

We should look at getting that Calvert-Lewin that they had on loan

Just watched some of his goals for Northampton.........why on earth didnt they leave him there to develope more,
I heard Wilder & Knill thought highly of him

He sent him out on loan and apparently he got his act together.

I thought he had something when we had him. Seems his career took a dive and is now coming back upwards

They wanted him but unfortunately no one at United answered the phone.

Negligent management of a potential asset.

Hopefully that will be the last half a season he wastes.

I heard they tried to send a fax........

Wouldn't be remotely surprised to see Ryan Cresswell returning to the lane after coming through our youth set up. Has been captain I think at Northampton so will be in favour with Wilder. He would also add height and we are desperate for centre halves. Added to that it's another bladey blade move to help us be "United together"

O Toole could be effective for us. Big and athletic. Always looked quite clumsy to me when we had him first time. Might do a job at this level but wouldn't be unearthing a gem.

That is exactly how I remember him, clumsy looking, however he seems to have progressed and would be a decent addition.

How about McDonald, who's younger and pushed Cresswell out of the team last season?
