We are going to lose 9 out of 15 when we have lost 6 in 31?

I think Boro will get more than 22 points as well although be happy if they do just get 22!
That puts them on 76 pts which is play off territory.

76 points Luton will quite possibly beat.

Boro have a possible 42 points to win.
If they continue fantastic form right till the end of the season they will probably lose 1 or 2 and maybe draw 2. Meaning a points total of 86 pts.
But that assumes them winning 10 from 14 games. If they better 10 wins 2 draws from 14 games then they will be pushing 90pts or above and even if we pipped them that's incredible total from where they are at now or earlier in the season.

For us to beat 86 points we would need to pick up 26 points from 15 games.
Meaning 7 wins 5 draws 3 defeats, or 8 wins 3 draws 4 defeats etc. etc.

It's all down to us, but if we get into the mid 80s points total, Boro will need to have been phenomenal to better us to be honest. It's possible for sure but still up to what we do.

So you’re suggesting that a team that’s won 18 of 31 matches so far this season (58%)
Are going to only win 4 of the remaining 15 (26%)

Look I know we lost last night, and I know we were outplayed, but ffs - seriously?
 
Our lot need to turn up Saturday and win Millwall, if we lose that one and Boro win there might be a shortage of Bog roll in S2 area of Sheffield
 
That article is from tees newspaper printed in Middlesbrough so they will favor boro and be biased towards them. The Blades would have to have a right loss of form.
Boro has to more or less keep winning for the rest of the season.
Calm down no need to panic negative Blade fans.
For all we know we could beat Millwall and boro lose the next game. then it will be back to square one from boros point of view.

Think this has wound me up more than last nights game
 
If Middlesbrough are ‘this season’s Forest’ they will win 10, draw 3 and lose 1 of their last 14. That’s what Forest did, and that would put Boro on 86 points.
Like it or not, we are in squeaky bum territory.

Those results predicted by you would mean that neither side gets automatic promotion. We would have 75 points and Middlesbrough 76 points.
 

Boro have 14 games to go with a favourable run-in. I think they'll get circa 28-32 points.

Blades have got 15 tougher games to go. I think we'll get circa 21-25 points.

It'll be tight.
 
We'll definitely lose all our remaining games, I'm absolutely sure.

If Boro only get 5 points from their last 7 matches I’ll be amazed.

Problem is we have been playing wank for a good while and we have been outplayed twice in a row with our midfield looking like they might as well have been sat in the stands for all the good they are doing collectively.

Big mental test now, how will the players etc react with the massive pressure they have invited upon themselves.

Middlesbrough are in form and have given themselves a gigantic mental boost with those two wins and us fucking up to boot.
 
Boro struck me as a side that would /could have an extended unbeaten run, Blades look like a team that, on current form, look mid table at best …..we know what’s coming don't we...play offs ….defeat in the final ….and another season in the championship where we need to rebuild….

TBH I think we'd probably be the best team in the Play Offs on paper at least. But the question would be, could our players get over the heartache/hangover of missing out on the autos?

Maybe this could be our season for finally winning the Play Offs, where it would be unexpected especially after the disappointment of losing the autos after such a commanding points lead.

So a team that's lost 7 in 31 ga.mes is going to lose 9 of the last 14.... so going from losing one in 5 to losing 1 in 0.5 games

I could have a different opinion about the results going forward from yesterday but i will leave it as it is and see how it goes,the next two away games Blackburn and Reading we will not have Anel who is suspended due to accumalating 10 yellows.
