New players or new owners,......

if people are so bothered about getting new owners, why did they NOT protest on sat, everyone just buggered off home and had a moan on here instead, like thats gonna make the blindest bit of difference. Nobody is happy about the state of the club, yet nobody is doing anything productive.moan moan moan, but iam going again next match. Then after i will moan some more.We need to do something before its too late.....

What possible in match protest would have made a difference? What did you do?

Generally when protests are effective it's because they are about a single, resolvable issue. For example, ticket price increase. There is an easy solution to that; don't put ticket prices up. It's something that is within the power of the owners to implement.
What would our protest be about? We want you to sell the club? The answer will be 'no one wants to buy it.
We want you to sell it cheaply or give it away. The answer will be 'no'.

We may only get better players in if we get different owners in? Who the new owners could possibly be is anyone's guess which is why I understand your point on the matter but i do feel we need a kick up the arse from somewhere.

Loads of questions but hardly any answers, hence our problems, mate.

Indeed - I am not adverse to getting new owners - I wouldn't lose any sleep if the McCabes/Prince decided enough is enough.

The whole point is not that we/they change - it's who we end up with - a fact lost on numerous on here.

It could be a lot worse. The pigs changed from a position of relative stability as an example.

The scary bit for me is that we start the next season with the same owners and pretty much the same squad. The supporters know which players should be binned - I am not sure that Adkins does.

I think you hit the nail on the head - it's alright saying we need new owners but as I've said in another thread, I haven't heard of any billionaires, sheikhs or oligarchs falling over themselves to buy the club.

Fair enough if the current owners decided they'd had enough and put the club up for sale, but like you, I have my reservations about who we could end up with. Remember Lee Strafford, oh how we laughed, well you never know how things could turn out.

yes, agree with you.

There are some very vociferous "change at all costs" and I understand their reasons.

What if we Do end up with a Strafford or god forbid a Sam Hasimi type character.
The pigs had many failed attempts including Strafford and Mr Casino.

It's a difficult dilemma, but once again to answer the opening post - it's the players for me.

I need a new Thomson brochure to book a nice late spring holiday.

we need someone to lead the club at board level.. anybody.. it says a lot that the current owners rarely attend games. Roman Abramovich goes to most games .. and he's a busy guy. fact is that they aren't bothered and this filters down through all levels of the club.

Can't we just cancel McCabe's contract? Free him up to go to Carlisle or Tranmere or somewhere...

hello heads up!! the pigs .. as much as everyone laughs at them and makes fun of their 'tuna' chairman, well at least he has put his money where his mouth is.. (they are currently above us despite all their tribulations)
i'm not sure what we have at the moment because our 'owners' never say anything and never go to the games

Being a Blade is one thing, being a fan of football is slightly different.
Disliking the arrogant b@stards from S6 is lifelong, but being a fan of football, credit has to be given to their apparent game changing investment.
We all hope it will go tits up and what we also have to hope is that he eventually gets fed up like Lerner at Villa.
Tuna boy has apparently got a decent wedge - but he did start from a position of strength.
We'll just have to hope Jose no 2 isn't as good as Jose no 1.

You mean Jos B isn't as good as Jose?

IMO the best scenario now would be for the Prince to buy out McCabe (we all know he cant resist a decent offer!) - at least we might see some ambition then, and remove McCabe's stranglehold on the club. Even if it doesn't work we wouldn't be worse off than we are now with boardroom division and no-one capable/allowed to make a decision.

I think he saw investing £1 for 50% of the football club only (doesn't include ground, hotel and other assets) was a cheap way of getting into the gravy train that is now football. Don't think he has the financial clout to do a proper job. Plus his new role is in conflict with him being involved. Think he will walk rather than invest and maybe that's McCabes hope as well.

"...Tuna boy has apparently got a decent wedge - but he did start from a position of strength....."

Well he bought a championship club for less money than it would cost anyone to buy SUFC......

Where is current owner, he all silent not been to any games.

If it doesn't work aren't we in exactly the same position?

New owners for a 10-15 year tennure and vision and finance and leadership - players then can be sorted in months May to September
Everton are being bought out for £200 million by USA investors looks like ex-Corrie Ken will be smiling and paid off
New stadium will go ahead. I am jealous

Adkins maybe does know but might find it hard to do? Whatever happens, no one can fault Adkins as a manager who can actually vouch for having a CV, whereas the players and board in general don't. Give Adkins a chance!

I've no Idea what the Prince has done for people to want him to buy McCabe out.
The Prince obviously chucked loads at it in Cloughys' reign, that can't be denied, what has happened after that could be debated all day long. I wish Adkins could have had his budget.

I think we would have been absolutely fucked without the Prince, whereas now, we are only knackered. Take the bones out of that!

People used to say that about McCabe though.

How much more fucked could we be??

It is interesting as if the Prince and his advisors Bakki, Phipps moved on (still think they will in next 6-12 months) would we be in any different position. Maybe the Prince did put some money in early on and we I recall we signed Baxter, Cuvellier etc and he gave Clough quite a bit of funds to build a very big squad including signing Coutts and Brayford.

I am not sure any money is coming in anymore. The January window saw to that. If they are not interested they may aswell leave for me. It as if they have said we put some money in (nothing compared to the Wednesday owner) and it did not work and now they are not bothering.

McCabe is clearly disinterested. He rarely attends anymore. The fact not one owner was there last Saturday summed it up. They are simply not interested anymore.

If the Prince does move on, we won't be in any better or worse position short term but longer term I fear that whilst there were some funds coming in (not game changing) to keep club running and some signings (until recently) then we would probably be in an even bigger mess unless some proper game changing owners come in (a la Wednesday sadly).

McCabe is putting nothing in either by contributing by actually helping run the club day to day or by putting in financial clout anymore. Thus if the current set up does not carry on. It is not working at the moment then I fear McCabe would put us up for sale and with nobody coming in, it would be a even harder challenge.

I do fear things may get worse before they get better and I never though I would say that a few years ago when we seemed to have hit rock bottom.

The owners, all of them, have one more chance to get going, I think. They backed clough this time last season. We're now lumbered with most of that squad. Less the best bits mainly. I can forgive no spend this christmas....so long as there's some kind of effort to totally rebuild in the summer.

Any less than promotion next season, and the owners, the the players and the manager will just all have to go!
