Fallowfield’s Final take

What are you on about ?

Bottom line is I’m fallowfield and I’ll say what I want 👍

The joke is on you HMS Portsmouth as you take yourself far too seriously on an internet forum

So serious you and your fellow bellow deck spud peelers ganged up and reported me 🥲

Or.... You might just realise that the forum is actually a privilege and that you have no actual self entitled right to be on it. It is provided by someone else, therefore is governed by their rules.....

Therefore it is adhere to them and respect them, or do one elsewhere would probably be the suggestion. Although I do not speak for the hierarchy...

We can agree/ disagree with other people posts, isn’t that what this forum is all about?

Not if it is puerilely for attention seeking purposes - FACT.

Otherwise we are reduced to the level of Mark PP.

Would we accept his drivel on here ?

Freedom of speech/opinion has some responsibilities.
People should have at least a basic knowledge of the subject in hand.
Otherwise the internet becomes as 'useful' as the adverts on ITV (War Of The Monster Trucks)

I’m not saying the owners do , however some members seem to think everyone has to have the same opinion as them and if they don’t insinuate they may be mentally challenged etc etc …

Look Tom if you think my posts are purely for attention seeking purposes stop replying to my posts as you probably reply the most

Also don’t talk about mark the Pitsmoor owl like that , he is an example of a reformed character and one society should be proud of and see as an example for ex convicts

“Freedom of speech has some responsibility”

What planet are you on it’s a football forum I’m not running for labour councillor

I told you at the time. And you weren't deplatformed. You were temporarily banned for a series of infractions, all of which you failed to acknowledge

You were offering violence Fallowfield and you know it. So I reported you. You did it again later on too. You got reported for that too, and I told you. Tell me you didn't fucking deserve it?

Because it:

a. stops you getting banned

b. stops everyone thinking you are a silly person and slinging shit at you

Which is what you didn't do. Do you want me to build a Powerpoint on this you can click through as a kind of training course? I specialise in adult engineering training but I suppose downscaling it to pre-adolescent levels won't be much of a stretch.

Aye, laters. No doubt.

Yes it is. All decent forums have moderators and compliancy rules and posters are dutybound to adhere to them. The margins of allowance within those rules are set by the moderators. Your offering out of posters was out of those margins and you received infractions, got banned and missed the end of the season. Tell you now, this place just wasn't the same without you. It was fucking superb. Hate to break it to you kid. And yeah, I don't want you to start offering people out. Call me picky but that's what happens on other forums. It's not behaviour I find acceptable. So I reported you. The moderators agreed.

Not at all from this callsign. You'll have noticed their is an entire legion who don't share my POV but I don't think they are mentally challenged. They simply disagree with me. You, however come across as a bit chicken oriental given you consistently fail to take the Jupiter-sized hints like a ban and widespread opprobrium with everything you post that you might just be doing it wrong. And here you are, still locking horns with posters and getting up the moderators arseholes and not in a positive way. Don't forget, anyone can report posters. You've possibly reported me. It's only they who ban people and they do that on our behalf.

Once again, disengage, have a fucking think how you're doing this and moderate your shit. If you think there is an hierarchy on here then you are possibly right, but don't forget many of us have been doing this for fucking decades and we've seen people like you come and go, and usually go with their wings and undercarriage on fire, nose first, undercarriage up. Your team predictions have historically attracted more negative bricks of shit than even my more radical match reviews so I'd seriously have a fucking think about how you're doing it and right now, coming back on here in exactly the same temperament you left it is the best way to end up sat in the stands again.

Advice is always something you don't want to hear, Fallowfield. Hoist it in and learn

I struggle to fathom how you have enough time inbetween peeling spuds below deck to write such articulate replies to me Portsmouth I sort of admire it

Well, there is some progress there.

Incidentally, because of logistics requirements and the unreliability of items such as the Hobart Potato Rumbling machine in a maritime environment, potatoes are supplied from retail as ready-peeled or treated these days. Hate to shit all over your narrow vision of an up to date and inclusive Royal Navy which treats its servicepersons as military professionals but we have other things to do like maintain serviceability of combat equipment and Subject Matter Expert SQEP status, project maritime military intent as part of extended government overseas policy and cover your arses when people go on strike or the country shuts down due to a pandemic. Regardless of what you read in comics or what your dad watches on WWII films, we've moved on.

Hobart Potato Rumbling machine

I used one of these at age 16, I climbed up the ladder from paperboy, to potato rumbler..
I never found the machine unreliable, though the floor was a fixed level and not subject to the vagaries of gravity on the high seas. :)

It wasn't so much the machine. It was the users - naval chefs. Also spares from Hobart were an issue. Suffice to say that five days into a seven month deployment the spud rumbler would break and no matter what piece of kit we ordered, it wouldn't arrive until we were on our way home. Story for you:

I was down in Antarctica in the autumn of 2006 with HMS Endurance, the UKs then Ice Patrol Vessel. Three weeks into an eight month trip our deep fat fryer packed up and as head of maintenance on board, no matter what my staff did to order a replacement MA22 Contactor and it's associated MA22a auxiliary contractor via our logistics arm three times the wrong piece of kit arrived at the end of an 8500 mile supply chain via the Falklands. After four frustrating months people were near mutiny because their chip-free diet was starting to have profound effects. In the new year Sally Taylor from BBC South Today arrived on board with her cameraman for a protracted spell covering the Princess Royal's Antarctic visit (Anne was staying on board with us, and I had her cabin extensively fitted out for her - on the first night after arrival she blocked her own shithouse with a turd my chippy described as 'fucking huge', but that's another story) But Sally was billeted in the cabin next to mine and her cameraman bunked on the Pullman bed in my cabin so we got to know each other quite well. She'd done a few articles for the BBC Programme including a few live feeds back to the teatime audience back home and was looking round for articles of interest and asked me about the rumours about the deep fat fryer. I explained the situation carefully and her cameraman/producer thought there was an item to put out on telly that night. We sequestered a chef - Paul 'Pob' Morrey (who is no longer with us sadly but was one of the British Transport Police at the Manchester Arena atrocity) to do the piece to camera with the three wrong bits of kit and a potato ready to be fried and his characteristic Oldham tones articulating our rage and sadness. It was edited and squirted up to the satellite that afternoon for inclusion in that evening's show. The article went out, and sat at home eating his tea was the managing director of Valentine Fryers, watching South Today, watching 'Pob' complaining and able to do something about it. He picked up his phone and instructed his logistics manager to dig both articles out of their itinerary, package it and get it send at haste on the next maildrop.

A week later we were back on chips and the Royal Marines we carried stopped beating people up and we all lived happily ever after.

You’re a fully grown adult. Can you not see he isn’t being entirely serious?
It would be a greater worry if he was serious. But if someone posts attention seeking nonsense, then they can hardly be surprised when they get the attention they crave?

I would argue that they are quite flexible on whay you do or do not say to be fair. But never the less they still have to govern the forum for a numer of reasons.... 1. To protect their own integrity and reputation, one which in all fairness is held very highly with the club.... and 2. To adhere with an extent with the laws that govern internet communications.

Go and have a go yourself if you don't like it bud.....I cant imagine it's all shit and giggles running a forum like this.

It aint. And I have been involved in Moderating forums before, one in particular had a host of Fallowfields who would regularly run aground with all sorts of miscreant stuff. This was during Brexit too and the levels of racism and xenophobia so I ended up banning them. The Site owners intervened and removed my rights as Moderator and allowed them back so I left and they are still there in their happy land of Farage and gammon, blaming migrants, homosexuals and gypsies for much of the world's problems. They also doxxed me and my family across several sites and encouraged damage to my house and car.

And one of them called me a snowflake too.

Would have been better to say 5…… 5 inches in your mum.
Now that would be youth banter at its best.

Hmmm, was it you who really said this ...

I really can not be bothered to hit the report button and message all the swearing and insults but if you feel what you say is acceptable then so be it.
