At least if we sign Diallo he’ll feel at home in the treatment room with almost half the squad.

Also if Diallo is due to be back in 1 month….you can bet our specialists manage to drag out his injury until his loan spell ends.

I thought he was a good signing tbf. Certainly didn't work out for him though. Doubt help that we were terrible in most matches.

The concept of signing him might have been right, its the loan aspect that baffles me. Literally every other position should have been prioritised over left back in my view.

It was somewhat forced by the injury crisis at LWB. I doubt, all things being equal, that Thomas would have been first choice (or second after McAtee).

What's even more baffling is that he's now being considered by West Ham, who have a similar challenge at LWB.

Totally get that, but how hard did we try to find a permanent solution rather than risk the precious loan spot on him.

He was excellent last season for Sunderland.

Out of contract summer ‘25 so you’d think they want to sell rather than loan. Would be a great start to a rebuild though.
