Sounds like an asshole.... Let's play Lunny instead 🙄
During a really bad Injury spell for Sheffield FC, John Lundstram DM'd the club, referred to himself as 'Lord' and attached 43 laughing & dollar emojis.

He should have got some game-time for the senior squad by now. Could and probably should have been a positive from such a wank season, bringing on our best u23s. I can see that changing actually between now and the end.

Good attitude too.

Yep, yet STILL, despite the fact that Lunny is leaving, Hecky is going to keep playing him instead of giving some experience so an U-23 player who might be needed next season. Baffling. The sooner Lunny hands the photos back the better.

It hasn't worked all season but maybe it will now so you promising youngsters get back in your box. FFS.

I'm going to give Hecky a pass on that. He had 1 cup game between coming in and an international break. Short term continuity, and 2 weeks now at the drawing board.

Totally mate but I'm going on his last comments in the press about not wanting to change anything going forward either. I totally understand him leaving it as it was for the first couple, but it worried me when he suggested Lunny's a fixture

There has to he some change. He doesn't have to 'take a wrecking ball to it' (sorry, these wilderisms live long) but anyone can see who is miles off it.

Let’s see who plays over the next few matches. Then we can judge

Incidentally, I've noticed over the past few seasons that Matlock Town have been among the first to congratulate us when we've had success. Don't know if there's some connection with United at the club or what.
I might start going to watch them.

It's a really good day out. Some of the nicest pies in non league - also, don't just stick on the touristy side of town - head up the big hill: three cracking pubs up there - well, there was before Covid, christ knows now.

Farmacy
Thorn Tree Inn (views down into the valley are excellent).

I started typing something similar before and realised the same...don't know what many towns are going to look like after covid.

Was reading an article in the star the other day and it seems like there's only Lush, Boots and H&M that are still keeping an open shop on Fargate!

Brunt played for the same grassroots junior team that my son currently plays for on Sundays and he's been very willing to help out with fundraising for them as well. Nice kid by all accounts.

When he was on the bench for the Blades before lockdown one of the officials at the club told us that he won the u16's league and cup double with them before he went to Matlock, apparently they wanted him to sign a contract sooner but he wanted to stay and complete the season with his pals.

We probably need some bad news about him now, maybe a granny kidney punch or something as he's coming across a bit too well for my liking.

Remember the 75 relegation season we brought a youngster in (Keith Edwards )sometimes you have to place your faith in a bit of youth .saying that I'd bring any walking human being in for the waste of space that is lundsrum

Twenty Ten is a great little pub too

(Is/Was?!)
Yeah, that one's good. It's worth going up the hill to have a gawp at that municipal building with the weird bridge.

Just checked and Farmacy looks like it's re-opening in may. I can't believe the Thorn Tree won't - a proper locals pub (and yes, in the League of Gentleman sense too). The Newsroom Facebook page is worryingly quiet. Shame, that was a brilliant little place.

If you're heading from Sheffield as well, there's usually time to get one in the Brunswick, opposite Derby station.

You'd assume Hecky knows these players infinitely better than Tufty, so if he picks Lundstram and Norwood over them, it's safe to say they're simply not good enough...

Interesting that the narrative coming out of the club these days is how good our youngsters are. Considering we've not seen one anywhere near the first team for 5 years, I'm fascinated by where this goes.

Wilder just didn't do youth players, regardless of talent.

We'll see won't we.

If Hecky keeps picking Lundstram, Norwood, Bryan and dare I say Basham - ahead of them, then we have our answer...

It's genuinely the only thing I'm interested in this season 😆

Wanky Wilder, never got a thing right in nearly 5 years. What a bastard.
Bit unfair to hyperbolise SB's post really.

Wilder achieved many things, but he had a shite track record for playing youngsters.

Or have you forgotten David "Cant rush the kid, he's not fully ready for championship football yet" Brooks.....

Who we sold to Bournemouth, who had no qualms playing him in the PL that same season...where he got goals and assists.

But he clearly wasn't ready for championship football, cos Wilder is never wrong.

Ah come on. I didn't say that did I.

It was slightly tongue in cheek but the constant digs and changing of history around Wilder are becoming better by the day.

I'd have loved to have seen Brooks play for us a bit more. I think he was doing so more until he got glandular fever, then we sold him to fund what turned out to be a promotion. Decent player but I don't think he'd have single handedly got us promotion if we'd have foregone the money.

Tyler Smith, Regan Slater & RND returning from loan now CW has gone and UTD are in the championship

(This is also a bit to tongue in cheek btw 😉)

Wilder played Brooks 30+ times in the Championship as a 20 year old. He started him in a derby at Hillsborough. And let's not rewrite history - Brooks was far from finished article when we had him (he arguably still isn't). He brought back Ramsdale and signed Brewster/Bogle etc. It's not like Wilder won't play/sign youngsters if he thinks they are ready. Maybe these kids just aren't ready. Some of them never will be.

My mates an Oxford fan and it was one of his gripes as well, overlook the acadamy to buy in from elsewhere.

Fair enough, it's what managers do but, If we take Ramsdale, Brewster & Bogle as an example, would we have been any better or worse off with Dewhurst, Hackford & Slater?

Ramsdale aside to some extent, none proven at this level. Hind sight is wonderful and I'm not naive, but still, over £40m saved.
