No question Henderson and Blackman have massive careers ahead of them, potentially so does Long however I feel it has always been said goalkeepers hit their prime around the 30 yr old mark.

Watching the above keepers there has never been any question in my mind that they can stop a shot when its fired in at them but the years of experience of dealing with a defence and organising them is why they usually hit their top form and best stats later on in their career.

We have already seen Henderson's world class shot stopping ability however its the verbal organisation of the defense that is harder to spot and the bollockings he needs to be delivering that worries me. Granted the defense should shoulder the blame for their apparent set piece failures but its the eyes of the keeper that is essential. I feel Blackman proved better at this due to his 6ft 6 size and presence albeit at 24yrs old demanded the respect of the defence but it would appear so far the 6ft 3 21 yr old doesnt look quite as daunting or authoritative. I believe all 5 goals have been the result of the defenders not seeing the runs of players around them that maybe the goalkeeper should be reminding them of all the time as we have a defense that needs direction.

None the less I believe Henderson is naturally the best keeper in the squad by quite a way, would it be worth seeing if Moore has the unseen ability to avoid having to make these world class saves and the job of picking the ball out of the back of the net every time a set piece or cross comes in.

Fair point re the experience to organise a defence and you can the fact they are gaining the experience at 'our expense'. It's not a sustainable long term policy but like politics in the long run everyone is out of a job so the temptation is to try and take care of the next 12 month's!

Big Jamal was quite ordinary when he came to the lane. But under our tutelage his kicking improved, his positional sense improved, he came out for crosses and made some world class saves. But the main reason we’ll miss the big man is is ball distribution at the back. He probably started off as many telling moves as Paul Coutts did.

Under out tutelage Leeds have got a Gem and we have to do the same this season with a rough gem in Henderson so a Premier League club can demand more money for a loan next season that we can't afford. This means we get another rough Gem, I would rather stick with OUR keeper or at least have a deal in the loan to purchase or extend for another season if we turn him into a commanding keeper.

A lot of being a goal keeper is the relationship with the defense, refreshing your goalkeeper each year would appear counter productive.
