One of the problems sometimes faced with posting is the number of 'similar threads'.
This is an attempt to highlight a point that United are in real danger of waiting too long before deciding what to do about our dire league position.
I thus decided to undertake a bit of research into coaches/ex-Blades managers first jobs as managers to see how they compared.
Now this isn't meant to be exhaustive but the idea was to see how Weir was doing by comparison.
Below is a comparison of their first manager's job in football (For Warnock it is Scarborough as I can't find records for Gainsborough for the time he managed though they finished 5th he only stayed half a season). The lower table is their time at SUFC.
If you take the minimum required points needed to stay up (51) over the last 5 seasons and project their points per game ratio achieved under both their first jobs as managers and their time at SUFC you can see how likely it is that a positive outcome might be achieved.
Projecting this forward you can see that under Weir, Kidd, Morgan, Slade and Speed we would be unlikely to survive.
Comparison to their SUFC tenure this would mean that under Weir, Adams, Heath as well as Morgan and Speed we would in all likelihood not survive.
It is also interesting to note how similar their first manager's job record is to their SUFC performance. The notable exception is really Adams though Heath and Bassett also performed worse.
