Scenario 4 - Centre Backs

You have to decide, as the manager, who to keep, who to sell, who to loan out and post your rationale or pros and cons for each player to back up your decision, and most importantly why.

** fair play some have already been released, extended etc, but let's still what you would propose.

Chris Basham (33) - Contract ends Jun 24

Jack Robinson (28) - Contract ends Jun 23

John Egan (29) Contract ends Jun 24

Charlie Goode (26) - Contract ends May 22

Filip Uremovic (25) - Contract ends Jun 22

Kacpar Lopata (20) - Contract not known

Ben Davies (26) - Loan contract ends May 22

Jack O' Connell (28) - Contract ends Jun 23

Kyron Gordon (20) - Contract not known

(I won't include all academy players)

Bash - Keep - contract already extended
Robinson - Keep - contract already extended
Egan - Keep - Sell if a good offer comes in
Lopata - Loan to league 1
O'Connell - serious consideration needs to be made about whether or not he will ever recover & be able to play professional football again... as much as we all love him, we can't just pay someone to not play.
Gordon - Loan to league 1

It is a bit of a no brainer as we have limited resources in this area and the opinion above is the only logical one

I'm not worried about ability. I'm just thrusting a ball into their stomachs and seeing who flinches.

If I was the manager I would be thinking I need to get promoted or I’m sacked.

This could be the greatest side in the championship not to get promoted

Extend Lopata/Gordon with the intention of loaning at a higher level then previously, otherwise it looks fine

I can see Egan going. At 29 it might be his last chance of a crack at the top flight and a big contract. Darragh Lenihan, Filip Uremovic, Alfie Mawson, Matt Clarke or maybe Charlie Goode would be reasonable replacements.

That seems to hit all the rumour mill bingo boxes - couple of our ex players, someone we've been linked to since Wilder was in the Championship, someone who will want more wages than we would consider, and someone I had to Google to work out who the hell he is
