Its January the 1st.. you dont have massive amounts to spend, but you have quite alot of injuries. Your sitting in 7th place and flirting with the Play Offs, in and out each week...

Its obvious the squad available to you isn't good enough to cement a place in the Play Offs and the injuries your squad has isn't helping.. put yourself in Blackwells shoes, what do you do? Who do you go for? Who do you get rid of? Flops maybe?

It could be interesting to see what many people would have done, after them saying Blackwell out etc..

(By the way, the squad you have available is the same squad Blackwell had available to him before he signed anyone in January)

I'd enquire about Naughton on loan paying a % of wages if necessary.
I'd make serious enquiries about Bale on loan (he wasn't playing as of Jan 1st)

I'd sell Monty, as he was never going to accept a deal to play for less money without seeing how the market rated him.


I wouldn't blame everyone else to the press if we don't win games.

Recall Billy Sharp - why should he be scoring goals galore for Rovers?
Make sure that either Naughton/Walker was in place for rest of season.
I don't mind the signing of Yeates who I think gives us options; neither do I mind the Seip/Bartley signings to be fair to Blackwell.
Look for one more diamond in the lower leagues (a la Wardy) or maybe two: midfielder one of them.

OTHER:
Tell Harper to buck his ideas up or else. We want the PL Harper at Reading - mind you, does that Harper need a Sidwell beside him?
Urge the chairman to be straight with the fans re: finances and why this has happened so expectations are lowered.
Tell Bunn to look to throw out first; the hoof should be last resort.
Talk to Ched Evans and find out what the problem is: positioning? effort?

Our problems with Blackwell did not start in January

1. Different style of football.
2. Billy Sharp would not be on loan.
3. I would not have signed Ched Evans. I wouldn't have signed Henderson either.
4. Signed some defenders in the summer.
5. not bought a load of shite signings who will never get near first team.
6. maybe play Glenn Little?
7. Instruct my midfielders to come short for throwings.
8. I would tell my players not to do an American Football style start, with 3 wide receivers and a freakin useless quarter back who kicks it straight out.
9. Sacked Ellis for being a cant.

Maybe he should take some responsibility instead of sending out Ellis everytime we lose. Maybe he should stop those idiots on Radio Sheffield from fighting his battles.

Our dealings/actions since January are not the cause of our current plight, its what we've done for the last 10-12 months. What would I have done differently?...........

Wouldn't have;

• Signed Andy Taylor
• Signed Ryan France
• Signed Glen Little if I had no intention of playing him
• Sold Kyle Walker
• Allowed a loan deal for Billy Sharp with no recall option
• Signed Ched Evans
• Sold David Cotterill to a promotion rival
• Publicly question the ability/mentality of my players away from home
• Put up with a constant cutting of staff/resources all season
• Signed players like Willo, Camara, and Harper if my intention was to bang it long every week

Would have;

• Signed Glen Little and played him more often
• Signed Richard Cresswell at the start of the season instead of Ched
• Signed Michael Tonge on loan instead of letting every one else first
• Pushed for Nosworthy on a permanent as part of the Kilgallon deal
• Asked my defenders to look for a short ball into midfield every once in a while
• Informed the rest of the team that Darius Henderson has feet
• Asked the board for clarity on which players I could keep for a full season and if any were in doubt, sell them before the season started to recruit properly and prevent another fractured season.................
