Ok, the its the day after and the storm has settled. So heres my two pennies worth about yesterdays game.
Firstly, no doubt about it, the ref got the biggest decision of the game wrong. It wasn't a sending off.
But, moving on to peoples performances. I dont want to be singleing people out, or pointing the finger. But the goal, was with out doubt Kenny's fault.
Stephen Quinn, is not, has never been, or will ever be a LEFT WINGER. He is not quick enough, not skillful enough and not composed enough. For me the starting line-up should have been the exact same has against Bristol.
Secondly, I cant remember if it was before the sending off, I think it was, which validates my point. Against Bristol we scored from two corners. Both of which were taken by Cotterill. So why, was Howard taking all the set pieces? Like I say, if it was after the sending off, then fair enough, but im sure i remember there being one before that. Now I think Howards a class player and a good signing, but why are we changing a winning formula? It just seems bizarre.
Thirdly, yet again too many of our players did not stand up and be counted yesterday again. I dont care what Blackwells post match thoughts are, I didn't think we were much, if any better than last time we visited S6.
Ugo looked nervous every time the ball was near him, and his upwards clearances are the exact same of calamity claude davis.
Speed, still seems to panic when on the ball, despite his experience sometimes i think he could be more composed, and was without doubt guilty of missing Uniteds best and only real chance.
Quinn, as previously stated. Not a left winger. Should never be considered for that position. He's like a headless chicken.
Beattie, Other than the 1 shot he might as well have not turned up
I thought the rest did ok. Sharp held the ball up a few times and made a couple of good touches. Though I still insist he doesn't score enough goals. I thought Naughton did well yet again. Howard looked composed and tried to make things happen through the midfield and Stokes did Ok when he came on.
I listened and read all the prematch build up over the last couple of weeks. On radio Sheffield Blackwell sempt very confident. But that was not a confident performance.
