Ok, the its the day after and the storm has settled. So heres my two pennies worth about yesterdays game.

Firstly, no doubt about it, the ref got the biggest decision of the game wrong. It wasn't a sending off.

But, moving on to peoples performances. I dont want to be singleing people out, or pointing the finger. But the goal, was with out doubt Kenny's fault.

Stephen Quinn, is not, has never been, or will ever be a LEFT WINGER. He is not quick enough, not skillful enough and not composed enough. For me the starting line-up should have been the exact same has against Bristol.

Secondly, I cant remember if it was before the sending off, I think it was, which validates my point. Against Bristol we scored from two corners. Both of which were taken by Cotterill. So why, was Howard taking all the set pieces? Like I say, if it was after the sending off, then fair enough, but im sure i remember there being one before that. Now I think Howards a class player and a good signing, but why are we changing a winning formula? It just seems bizarre.

Thirdly, yet again too many of our players did not stand up and be counted yesterday again. I dont care what Blackwells post match thoughts are, I didn't think we were much, if any better than last time we visited S6.

Ugo looked nervous every time the ball was near him, and his upwards clearances are the exact same of calamity claude davis.

Speed, still seems to panic when on the ball, despite his experience sometimes i think he could be more composed, and was without doubt guilty of missing Uniteds best and only real chance.

Quinn, as previously stated. Not a left winger. Should never be considered for that position. He's like a headless chicken.

Beattie, Other than the 1 shot he might as well have not turned up

I thought the rest did ok. Sharp held the ball up a few times and made a couple of good touches. Though I still insist he doesn't score enough goals. I thought Naughton did well yet again. Howard looked composed and tried to make things happen through the midfield and Stokes did Ok when he came on.

I listened and read all the prematch build up over the last couple of weeks. On radio Sheffield Blackwell sempt very confident. But that was not a confident performance.

I'd agree with all that.

We need to go out and get a center half to partner killa.

Its simple..............a lot of the squad at BDTBL aren't good enough.....the pigs wi out a pot to piss in and us wi McCabes millions yet on the pitch where it matters they've taken 7 points from the last 9.

Quality not Quantity..........The Blades Way............:D:cry2:

the same squad thats won 3 on the bounce aren't good enough?

1 loss in 4 and were not good enough? why didn't you post it after each game we won then? You going to post it still if we beat southampton, preston and bristol?

We all know in matches where there is so much tension and passion that the game is a one off. After 3 good results we are not suddenly 'not good enough', we had a bad day.

We need to get behind the team now as this team Is good enough (barring maybe a couple of weaker areas) to go on and get promotion this season!

In all fairness, we were hardly good against Doncaster; in fact, we were lucky to win that match.

we wasnt good but still won, pretty good eh ;)

Depends on perception, really. There's an argument that a team that can still win whilst not playing well have an edge; however, there's another argument that if we're poor against teams like Donny - who if they'd had a striker worthy of the name would have thrashed us - we're not going to create any kind of consistency throughout the season.

I am pleased with the three straight wins, don't get me wrong; but in reality it's about more than three points.

Any team can win or lose in this league, even the mighty Reading, but the better teams will win more because they play consistently effectively, not because the opposition doesn't turn up, or because the luck goes in their favour.

I don't think we have a divine right to win any match, but you would expect a team with the value of ours - not to mention the wage bill - to be able to be up there with the best teams in the league.

As I said elsewhere, I think we'll finish about the pigs purely by dint of having a larger squad.

I'd be much happier if I'd seen us turn over a couple of teams with top drawer performances with this squad. In the promo season we'd done it half a dozen times at this point in the season.

Glad Keenzy agrees with me. Im not saying were not good enough to have a decent season, the main article was based solely on yesterdays performance. We have too many players that hide in the big games its that simple.

Agreed. If the Pigs can do it with their shoestring team, how comes we can't?

Brian Laws has turned into Neil Warnock v2.0

How many times did Warnock manage to fire the Blades up to punch above their weight? And now BL can do the same.

The thing is, it's only so long before managers like that get found wanting... when they start believing their own hype and employing naive tactics.

It would be nice to thrash Southampton tomorrow...
