I thought Yeates put in a very admirable performance last night on the back of some (what I consider) largely unfair criticism. Particularly 2nd half, it looked to me as if he'd been told to run his nuts to piss for the cause, knowing he was going to be subbed. He was still up to his old tricks, slipping and sliding and playing misplaced passes but I thought he was the only one having any impact. The only one running with the ball at his feet. Quinny came into it more as the game went on but even just looking at the half-time "highlights" was proof enough that Yeates was the only player to put the ball into Reading's box.
Judging wingers on their defensive ability is always something that pisses me off but his tackle during a Reading breakaway topped his performance off.
I know he's pretty fooking far from perfect but I think some Blades fans need to cut him some slack. Without him I don't reckon we'd have got into their half last night.
