It may just be me but I honestly think that Yates is the worst winger I have ever seen play in a Blades shirt!. When he came on last night he had no impact on the game whatsoever, infact he only added comedy value, falling over, placing the corner several feet behind the goal, beating himself and then falling down again. The only danger was the Leicester defenders might piss themselves laughing!!!.
He has luckily been in the right place for his goals this season but to think he is seen as our most creative player........we really are in the poo! I just cannot find one positive to describe him even his feet have a stutter!!!!!
The time has come for the players to prove they have the balls for a fight and keep us in this division and many of them did that last night, Monty, Ched, Cressy, Kozzy and Lowry even Parino gave it ago but i can't say the same for Yates who was a liability from the moment he fell onto the pitch.
Please Micky give someone with commitment the shirt and leave this passenger in the reserves.

We say that about most of our wingers.

Ifill, Cotterill, Ndlovu and even Keef at times.

They are all inconsistant in our league and usually the most consistant attacking wingers are found in the PL or end up there.

Just look at Jermaine Johnson. Absolutely electric when he's on it but if you can't show consistency, all of a sudden you're League 1.

How much more dangerous did our corners look once he came on to the pitch?

Granted one was a fluff but whenever we had a corner at the Kop end I thought we had a chance.

Yeates needs to start to get the best out of him, he is not a player who will always come on as a sub and change a game.

Utd's corners have been rubbish for years. FACT. They are never driven or 'whipped'. They are always floated. They are always very easy to defend. We will never get anything from them, except a guaranteed throw in 15 yards out, once the initial corner has been cleared. If we ever try a short corner we usually panic and end up defending in a dangerous area.

Apparently it (the driven corner) is a difficult skill to master so our 'percentage game' managers have concentrated on just getting it in there (without any real quality). I also think that having technically rubbish players taking the corner kicks does not help.

They were that dangerous Wilo took over corners from the JS side! I know wingers in general are frustrating but he is bad beyond belief and has not really had a great game for us even when he's scored. I hate to put a player down but honestly Kozzies crosses were far more effective than anything Yates put in. On a more positive note The Chedmeister is now starting to look like a footballer and was trouble for Leicester all night.

Anyone who thought Foxy was a clapper should have heard him last night when Yates came on for his "cameo" appearance.

:D

Yeates last night- omfg. First corner spooned out into the side netting and never got above knee height, second touch of the ball, crossed it at such pace that the ball whistled out for a throw in at the far side of the pitch. And the academy has nothing better than him??????? :loopy:

He also played a hospital ball to Willo who was lucky not to get caught worse than he did

and then we had a caller on Radio Sheff who could not understand why he is not regularly starting games!!!! If the caller was there last night what on earth was he watching?
Im not one to critize our players .............but god he was awful last night.

He had a poor game but he did put one corner perfect onto someones head who should have done miles better with a free header than put it into the Kop!

To be fair, you could say that about every position. Even in the PL there's inconsistency.

If Yeates and anyone for that matter can be more consistent than inconsistent then I'll be happier.
