Would you still be happy with 17th?

I honestly run out of ways to praise these lads! What a team we have. Call me greedy but I want us to get 6/7 points from our next 4 games. That would leave us pretty much safe by January and for me it gives us a chance to have a go in FA Cup. It’s not every year we are going to be up there with England’s elite and we should take that chance to compete for a cup while we can
Agree 100%, but fuck the cup. If we carry on like we are then we have a real shot at top 6 and qualifying for Europe. That's where the megabucks are. Obviously late december/January looks daunting, but if we get through that and are still in the top 10 then why not?

Ohh yes , it’s all about stopping in this division! However Wilder would have to go after the slide from 5th
* Thinks let’s start a Wilder out thread *

An interesting point re finances - how much is it worth to be in the UEFA cup (whatever its called now)? Champions league is game changing money of course but I get the impression the other one isn't really worth it in the context of PL TV money

We literally have nobody to fear. We are genuinely one of the best teams in the league. Every single game so far we have competed and you could argue we deserved at least something from every game. After Man City we will have played every single team too

We've earned enough points to have a right go at city and liverpool, they the ones who'll be sweating.
Would I take 17th, well only if I had to but I don't think we have to we should be looking forward and a top ten spot is a possibility. What ever happens these are great days.

This has probably changed since August but my predictions for end of season...(put us 10th then)...
1 Liverpool
2 Leics
3 Man C
4 Spurs
5 Man U
6 Chelsea
7 Arsenal
8 Wolves
9 Blades
10 don't give a feck.

If we ended up 17th I'd be disappointed to say the least, why are our fans such PODS enjoy the bloody ride.

Whilst money talks new players will also buy into how we play, the squad and Wilder himself. The deciding factor could be finishing league position, whilst I’m not going to get carried away and say we can offer European football it will be important to show new players we are not going into next season off the back of a relegation battle

No. Anything other than relegation is obviously great for a first season in the PL but based on how we've performed so far we deserve, and should expect to be well away from a relegation scrap. I think top half is very realistic for us.

I know at least one guy who would not be appeh if we only finished 17th after this start. His name is Chris Wilder.
Who knows where we will finish, but it will be higher than 17th.

Yes I would be happy with 17th. Everyone else should too and enjoy the ride. No one knows what's in store and it's a close division.

These people who let their expectections get too far ahead and go bat shit crazy when we lose to the likes of Newcastle are morons in my opinion, particularly them that boo.

Yes. Anything higher is a bonus. I guess the caveat would be performances. If they're dreadful from now on and we just avoid relegation then I'd not be happy.

Yes - 17th from bottom.

Seriously, we've got to take what comes. Keep believing, but keep 100% support if things turn tough.

At the start of the season I'd have snatched your hand off for 17th but as we are now I'd be devastated to finish so low. I honestly think we should be looking at the top half of the league and certainly not worrying about a relegation scrap.

No!
I think I posted us as having a top ten finish before the season started. Wider said yesterday that every game is a tough one, so there will be ups like the Villa result, and downs like the Newcastle result.
Even a sniff at Europe in our first season back would be delicious.
The end of last season proves the continuing belief and spirit in this side.
The game we play will give us a top ten finish, and make recruitment easier in the summer.
17th. Meh!

We are flying, no side has dominated us!
We are in The Prem by merit we are 5th on Merit and 17th!!!! Piss off we are top 8👍
