Would you rather win the League Cup or be promoted to the Premier League?

To be honest, I'd rather win the League Cup. See my team at Wembley lifting a cup, memories that would stay with me forever. I know that doesn't make financial sense but surely football isn't just about money? I know it is unlikely at the moment that we will win it, but I wish we had played a stronger side yesterday and made a real go of it. Oh well, maybe next year.

if it was the Fa cup i would be saying yes. League cup no from a finalincial sense because you get more money for being in the 3rd round than you do for making league cup final

League Cup.

Although conversely I didn't give a shit about last nights fixture and only went for the loyalty points.

You get a free can of carabao as well :)

True but who cares? Winning something is more valuable than money. And we'd be in the Europa League qualifiers.
You can't put a bag of cash in your trophy cabinet.

Fa cup, league cup then Prem promotion...

However this season is survival
That, but in reality we'd probably have to be a PL club to win a cup so, chronologically, it would be promotion first.

FA Cup (just once in my life, please) > promotion > joke cup.

The LC has lost all credibility in recent years. The "big boys" use it to give their kids and reserves some game time, until they get to the semis, then they wheel out the big guns. The FA Cup is a historic tournament that most teams still take seriously.

Win the League Cup or the FA Cup

Getting promoted to the Premier League would be embarrassing watching Huddersfield, Burnley, Bournemouth spending £15 million on a player and us struggling to land a £2 million Championship third choicer

Like any of those will still be in the PL by the time we get promoted.

but put it this way win the league cup 100,000 & europa league qualifers

or you can win FA cup get the extra prestige for winning, get the at least 4.15m in prize/tv money & have a place in group stage of europa league

Yes, but the OP was would you prefer to win the League Cup or promotion. I'd prefer the FA Cup because it's far more prestigious, not because of the money. Getting promoted would be worth far more than either but I want silverware, proper silverware.

I'd love to see us win a cup in my lifetime and we don't need to be playing in the top flight for one. So I'm gonna go with cup, even if it is just the Haribo one. Many clubs remember their League Cup victories fondly, so why shouldn't we with our hypothetical one?

League cup.
I'd only care about it once we were in the semi finals though.

Never ceases to amaze me how so many clubs give up on winning the LC. I remember it seemed to start with Warnock home to Birmingham I think.

You only have to win about 6 games and you're in Europe. More chance than getting 7th in the PL!

The bigger clubs don't start taking it seriously until about the QF.

League Cup. The Blades have never played in any major European competition and its my dream to see us play in Europe in my lifetime. Doubt we'd have much chance of doing it through a Premier League placing. The Championship is one of Europe's strongest leagues, and I think any Championship club would have a decent chance of making it to the group stages of the Europa League.

Incidentally, aren't the Blades the biggest club in Europe, at least attendance-wise, never to have played in any major European competition?
