Good point. The problem nowadays is that a Bielsa moment is so rare, but it also shouldn't be down to an opposition manager to make a call either.

Was it an injustice or was it just shit refereeing? I think it was the latter and i don't think it is entirely the referees fault either, its the pressure they are under - perhaps from the referees union (or whatever its called), the FA, FIFA... and of course the Premier League Brand. Although in not making a sensible choice, they become more of a laughing stock and further devalue the integrity of the brand. The problem is that referees aren't given any freedom to make a sensible common sense decision.

Balloongate in 2008 was a similar situation, the refs can't think properly for themselves, despite new rules leaning towards them making that call.

The Bielsa moment only came from an action by one of his players that was so incredibly unsporting that it's almost unheard of. And I hasten to add that if he wanted to be truly sporting he would've played the game out 10v10 after that horrendous red card.
