Worst Performance of the Season

Both the referee and linesman were in my field of vision as it happened and both were looking straight at it. Ref bottled it (again) and the linesman refused to break his habit of stealing a wage and not involving himself in anything.

I could spend the next week listing his other weaknesses.

Yep, a proper dream team weren't they?

When you look at it, linesmen don't have to do a great deal, but, number one, keep up with play would be a very good start!

He was an absolute joke, so inconsistent, making players go three yards back down the pitch for throw ins, then lets their goalkeeper chuck the ball twenty yards higher up the pitch from where the incident took place on two occasions. Both times he was oblivious, as he minced back to the half way line. Basham nearly gets cut in two and their player gets a jolly good talking to. Someone else got proper cleaned out, about six feet in front of the Lino, near the South Stand, we get a fee kick, the refs view was obscured, but does he consult his colleague? No of course not, he's in charge. Ball runs out of play, Wright retrieves the ball and as he walks back Madden kicks the back of his leg, the refs staring directly at the incident from thirty yards away and has a quiet word? Fleck and a Scunny player go shoulder to shoulder, free kick and a booking for Fleck? There's five minutes added time, Scunthorpe waste two of them and a minute later he's blowing for full time.
The most inept and arrogant refereeing performance I've seen at BL this season and believe me that is saying something

I can't be arsed to reel off every decision he got wrong, but the yellow card to Coutts for not rolling off the pitch was unreal and wad made even more baffling when a Scunny player, in a similar position on the pitch,

Totally incorrect.

Coutts went down off the pitch then moved back on the pitch to halt play. The ref came over to ask why he couldn't have gone down off the pitch and he mouthed something like "shut the fuck up". Card came out immediately.

Thought that was one of the decisions he got spot on

If indeed he has been relegated from officiating in the Premier League why do we have to suffer the cunt?
In such a high profile match.
If I was completely wank at my job I would expect to get the sack, not a sabattical to a less high profile company

I didn't clearly see what happened but I saw Wright remonstrating with the officials after and said that is out of character for him. He doesn't regularly gob off in that arsehole type way (unlike their no.8).

From what I saw he was pointing at the linesman saying 'You saw it' or something along those lines.
The linesman was completely silent when he had a very clear view of certain events, but never flagged them up at all.

Bang on, just as I saw it too.

If those were the actual words, he was wrong again, should have been a straight red!

After that challenge on Bash, their number 8 came over to him giving it the big en. The fat little bald bastard.

By that arrogant, self important, clueless prick with the whistle.

I can't be arsed to reel off every decision he got wrong, but the yellow card to Coutts for not rolling off the pitch was unreal and wad made even more baffling when a Scunny player, in a similar position on the pitch, did the exact same thing without punishment!

There needs to be ramifications for that sort of performance from an official. I know they have a tough, thankless job but if you performed like that at work in any other industry you'd get a severe bollocking at the very least.

Fortunately he didn't completely kill what was an entertaining game of football today, despite his best attempts to.
Not disagreeing that he did not have a good game but actually the Coutts decision was one of the few he got right. Coutts was already off the pitch and he then came back on the pitch to get treatment. There would have been riot had it been the otherway!

Looks like I'll stand corrected on the decision to card Coutts.

How I saw it was that Coutts got fouled outside the line, attempted to get back on the pitch but picked up a limp just as he entered the field of play & went down. The fact that Coutts played on suggests he was being cheeky. I still think it was a harsh yellow.

Think the ref lost the plot and scunny took advantage of that by being thuggish, IMHO

He did involve himself in not giving the most obvious offside ever ,It was Ray tinkler ish.
