Wonder what clauses there were in the transfer deal?

Interesting article on Kyle, makes me cringe to see players like Walker caught up in the premier league trawl, its self perpetuating that the big clubs will continue to dominate as long as they buy up any sign of talent from the lower divisions. It would be interesting to know if there are any clauses that will drip a bit of money Uniteds way? You could have started to form a team around the two Kyles, I was absolutely gutted the day I heard we had sold them.

Totally agree Caveblade.
Makes one think to see the names of Walker and Jagielka in the England squad announced today.
No wonder we are where we are and we have always been a selling club.
The days of Premiership football are probably gone forever, to get back into the championship will be an achievment,we will have a better idea after the cheque gathering again in January.

Kyle scoring the winning Goal yesterday, and getting Man of the Match, now an England Call Up, top lad

That £3 million seems a long time ago now

They said it was good business, how could we turn such money down.

They also said 1 million for Slew was great business, he'd had a few crap games....

Fast forward to this week.... Danny Wilson is now looking for a player who can be a bit tricky and has some pace... Blackburn had a 1 million player on their bench when they got stuffed this weekend.

We've never made a conscious effort to get a long term replacement for any of the "good business" deals we've made

Yep selling the Kyles and Jags and the rest was good business/the club's only option.

Just imagine if we hadn't sold them - we could have ended up in League One with around £50m of debt.

The only hope was to get to the premiership, try and keep them there, or let them go once we were up. We came within touching distance, the play off final, then blew it.

That is top, top posting Tunsy lad, great stuff.

Next thing we'll have Flatulent on saying the kid can't defend and makes loads of mistakes and basically isn't that good - which will be very amusing.

Or even worse, ended up like Charlton, Leicester, Southampton, Watford, Leeds, Wednesday, Norwich...oh, that doesn't work any more.

Still, we're above Bradford, I suppose, although they got 1 more PL season than we did....

Stop it Rev - you'll remind me of a famous post by someone on here in support of McCabe saying at least we are better off than Watford and Charlton.

There will be no clauses or add ons to this deal.
Naughton was the one if any that would have had the clauses on.
What a dreadful deal the club got out of it all.
I feel the Slew deal will also come back to haunt us.
Good young English English players will now become alot more valuable with UEFAs new rules in place.

None of which I actually said.

I said he had cost us goals in consecutive matches, he had and that he wasn't seemingly learning from his mistakes. Given these goals were from him either losing the ball in dangerous areas or diving in that would also be correct.

Never said he couldn't defend, nor that he wasn't any good.

Not like you to make stuff up to back your position Mica?

P.S. I do think Webber is poop, and think we over hype Lowton and Maguire as top players when they still have a long way to go.

Does anybody actually think the Kyles and Jags would still be with us if we hadnt sold them? Jags only signed a new contract with the relegation clause in as he wanted premier league. the Kyles contracts were running out so they would not have resigned anyway.

Kyle Walker is along with Jags the future for England they would not be anywhere near the England squad if they still played for us.
