We surely have to let Morgan have a crack at management. at least he wants the JOB!! :( no other does.
I would love someone like Jackett but chances of landing him is slim.
I wanted the job searching process to be quick and painless like Donny and just allow us to get ready and prepared for next season.
but i'm talking about United what else do we expect from these numpties in charge :p

sorry for the spelling mistake in the title I meant Robinson....

If we give it to Morgan we'll be 17th on Boxing day. Then be looking for a manager again..

At least at home we have been solid under him, we were great against Swindon, we should still be pushing top 6 with Morgan.... I would like a manager who really wanted the job and succeed at united, got his badges and been at the club for the past decade. Not number one choice.

by that logic, give it to me. the job i mean. not the other. though i wouldnt say no to a cornetto.

whoever the next manager is, i will guarantee they will have "always been the first choice for the job" even it's bob carolgees!

Don't want morgs ! Id try get aidy boothroyd i rated him at watford . Just my opinion

The football under Morgan was bad enough - but then telling us how the team were great pros who played like lions against Yeovil was unforgivable - given that we could all see that they played shite and looked like they couldn't give a toss.

We need experience in charge not someone a gamble on someone who is having a go a their first job.
Boothroyd or Jacket are the only two.
Keene has not done it anywhere else and would scare the youngsters we will have to play - OK with seasoned pros but not kids.
Southgate is too intelligent for D3, can't see our donkeys taking on board his thoughts.

Why Morgan? Really....Why? Are there no other retired centre-halves who have been appointed to a club coaching position simply to save money rather than on merit? Is there no-one else out there who's done nothing special in a two year coaching stint? Surely there must be other candidates who have failed miserably in a spell as caretaker manager?

The truth is, if he'd had exactly the same career at some other club, we'd all be rightly astonished and appalled at him even being linked to the job. I'm afraid it's yet another weary example of the ludicrous and self-destructive parochialism that infests our club and supporters like a plague of bubonic fleas. Small minded, back yard thinking that will achieve, at best, yet more mediocrity.

If Morgan's in.....I'm out.

Edit...just noticed the Hoofwaffe are starting the Hoofroyd bandwagon. Will we never learn......?

Once again, I despair.

Perhaps we should give Phelan a go? No, not Mike Phelan - that would be madness, as he's got no connections to the club. Terry Phelan on the other hand...

God help us !
No Money, No Heart, No Idea!!
It appears we will appoint anybody who wants the job - but there are not many of them !
For all Winter's blather and corporate speak let's face it Nobody wants the job - will the last person out of Bramall Lane please switch off the light!!

People should be thinking about putting their bets on for United to be relegated because if we did give the job Morgan, the odds would def get smaller. It's a terrible situation at United if Morgan is the best we can do.

Just been saying the same thing to a mate this morning...fighting a relegation battle this coming season if we have Morgan at the helm - praying I'm wrong on both counts of course...

UTB!

Mccall turned us down ..... So what ? Get over it , he's hardly fergie or wenger is he ? Plenty of good managers out there id rather them take time to get the right man than a rush panicked appointment .

its more the question of why did he turn us down. no hes not fergie or wenger, which makes it even worse. if mccall turns us down, and robinson presumably turned us down too, then just who the hell will take the job? we arent taking our time to get the right man, were taking our time cos every time we think weve found the right man they listen to what weve got (or not got) to offer and tell us to get fecked!

For all the bollocks they comes out with regards restructuring and being a League One club, I reckon the club still have grand ideas about the stature of Sheffield United and the fact that both KR and SMcC have both turned down the job may have surprised Winter and his cronies..

If you look at it seriously and without the red and white speks on, the club currently has:

1. NO money for transfers or wages.
2. Ever decreasing attendances
3. A very demoralised fan base
4. A squad full of high wage earners over 30 with no real ability and no way to move them on
5. An owner who has given up
6. A football club board that is actively trying to shrink the club but demanding promotion at the same time.
7. No back room staff apart from Chris Morgan who must be involved next season because the owner made a promise to him.

Would you leave another job for that? The only candidates are going to be those who are currently unemployed or Chris Morgan.

I hope the board read the forums as it clear as day that if Morgan is appointed then the gates will drop to season ticket holders only and the walk up numbers will dissapear. It would be even worse if the club did season ticket refunds, but for some reason they don't.

I saw on here someone ask what the odds are on Sheffield United being the first "big" club to go bust or end up in the conference, I too would like the odds on that as I think a £10 might be worth it.

John Hughes. If he would have us.

Sorry but its genuinely where we are at. Failing that I'm back in the county come 01/07/13 :)

Agree with everything but number 2. Motherwell & MK Dons can only dream of our level of support. Averaging over 18k given the shite we endured last season was awesome. Very few clubs could match that in the same circumstances.
