We were just commenting how leggy Freeman and Lafferty looked today and how their energy is so key to us but both were sluggish today...seconds later Freeman crossed and Lafferty scored...

I know Done can slot in on the left but, should Freeman take a knock (touch wood) then I'm not sure if Wilder would slot someone in there or change the system completely.

As for next season, what's the thoughts on Brayford? Is there a return?

I know there's mixed feelings on him after last season, but he came back from a bad injury into a struggling team that lacked character.

Freeman has been superb this season and should Brayford have stayed then I think he would have also starred in such an attacking role (think back to his loan season when the shackles were off and he got forward at every given chance)

Stick with Freeman. Sell Brayford. Spend the money on a striker.

IF we do finish the job, and IF we stick with 3-5-2 next season, then nobody should even be in contention ahead of Freeman at RWB. Brayford had his moment(s) and it's time to look to the future. Sell him, and reinvest the money where we need it most.

I feel a right un for whinging about Lafferty but I do find his final ball Poor more often than not.

I can see Riley coming back next season and taking the Left wing back role

Agree maybe not about Riley, as not seen enough of him, but Lafferty is too hit and miss going forward, fine in this league but need to improve next year.

Defensively though I think they'd both be ok next year.

We can't be too sentimental come august, thanks to the lads for this year but we need to strengthen when we go up. That's football I guess.

I'd have Brayford back...

That would be 3 players who could play right wing back, him, bash n freeman, two of which can play on the right side of a 3..

I'd rather have Brayford in any position across the back than EEL

Next season the centre back positions need attention, I dont know if Brayford is the answer but I understand he was a centre half before becoming a wing back, the Burton fans seem to rate him in his centre half position so why not?

Brayford could be very useful for a possible CB role
Freeman has to start next season as our first choice RWB after his performances this season
Why does he ? He is poor at defending but going forward he is very good at this level. If we end up playing 4-4-2 he can't be the right back.

If Freeman gets injured then Basham will step in. That lad can play anywhere and did a cracking job there last season.

For Lafferty I think JOC could do a job, otherwise it's Done of maybe O'Shea.

I think brayfords had his 15 minutes of blades fame - I am happy to leave all such matters to the lord wilder

Thought Lafferty was wasteful today...got in good positions but his crossing was poor, credit for getting the winner though...Freeman had another decent game for me...he's a 7 out of 10 player week in week out,and for someone who people say can't play Full Back...well he didn't do a bad job today when we matched their shape and played a Diamond, and still got forward to supply Lafferty with the winner from Full Back.

I know Done can slot in on the left

otherwise it's Done

I hope Done never, ever, starts again at left-wing back. For someone that was converted from a full-back to forward, you wouldn't know it to look at him in a defensive position now. He is appalling there. Use him as a forward or sell him – i full expect the latter in the summer.

Interesting to know how long Nathan Byrne's loan is at Charlton. I doubt Wigan would accept any offers but could see him being a useful addition. Athletic with natural pace.

I agree that he is a poor fullback and certainly am not advocating it, just saying that it will be an option in the event of injuries. Hopefully we won't get in that situation. JOC would be fine at full back anyway.

May I ask who you would start there next season ?
He has been an integral part of this (hopefully) promotion team, scoring 9 goals , assisting on 8 goals after yesterday , I think CW would give him the starting shirt back in the championship whether we are 4-4-2 or 5-3-2 , again CW showed today he is more than happy to change tactics/ formation during a game , I believe freeman has earned the chance

We most likely won't have a fortune to spend and I believe priority will be given to CB and CF
I can imagine someone like Riley would be a good season loan to cover both wing back / full back roles also we may still have brayford on the books

Brayford will be back and involved next season I've said it before The reason he is out on loan is strictly financial. Whilst i imagine his wages are very high for league one club but Im sure they're average for a Chanpionship one.

We need 2 starters for each position. in midfield we are all but covered but we need 3 new defenders at least this includes 2 full backs, keeping Brayford means we need 2 new defenders resigning Riley would mean one. Maybe going back for Webster means we are sorted and a free transfer GK means we are sorted defensively only spending 1 fee

I just can't see us moving Brayford on,i don't think we would get a fee and then we would have to go out and pay a fee for someone not as good?!?

Wilder doesn't close the door on players As we all know Freeman spent time out on Loan last season and pre season got Transfer listed and had one foot out of the door.

I'd expect the squad to expand to 30 with 24/25 established Pro players and 5/6 kids

I thought he was crap yesterday. Spoke to a Charlton fan who says he has been poor and they dont want him full time. Apparently very lazy and inconsistent. He has been at Wolves and Wigan since moved on by Swindon.

We are on the up and wilder has shown others how to handle young players on loan. I fully expect 3 or 4 youngsters from the premier big six to supplement our squad. I also hope it's true that jags wants to move back Sheffield and give us a home town discount, well old club discount.

Be interesting to see how many of the players who have triggered an automatic extension get one when we do go up.

Well that's my opinion changed! Tbf I wasn't at the game and just remembered his performances v us for Swindon. Freeman instead anyday.
