Positive thinking now lads-targets in our range.
I for one would defo re-new our interest in le fondre, possibly koumas as ive heard the swine are in for him.
Thoughts please.

I'm not sure about ALF. No real reason - just instinct. He's a bit lightweight and may have an 'attitude'. I'd sooner go for Craig Davies or the lad Donaldson - a bit more presence about them.

I hope he'll go for Willo, D-Mac and Harriott as his CM options. That leaves us light on the flanks. I'd like Copinger but probably unrealistic at present.

We need a commanding centre-back to supplement Morgs and Maguire (or Piggy as he's known to the carpark paramilitaries). A goalie would also be welcome. We can't throw in half the youth team all at once. Careful now!

i think phillips will land nicely in the hands of someone like forest or cardiff-at championship level that bloke will be priceless.im amazed that brum have released him to be honest but he would set league 1 alight-cum on danny-light the fires!

The following will be the first signings of Danny Wilson to Sheffield United:
-Owain Tudor Jones will join on loan from Norwich City after impressing Wilson playing for Wales.
-Theo Robinson will join from Derby County after recently falling out with Nigel Clough.
-Wilson will bid for Simon Cox from West Brom but is unlikely to come.
-Jerel Ifil will join from Bristol Rovers.
-Anthony McNamee will join on a free transfer.
-Billy Paynter will join from Leeds on loan.
-Alex Henshall and David Ball will join on loan from Man City.
-United will bid £400,000 on Gordon Greer from Brighton.
-Craig Easton will join from Southend United on a free transfer.
-Lee Trundle will make a surprise return to English football and join United on a one month rolling contract.
-If Reading get promoted, Wilson is ready to pounce to take defender Sean Morrison on loan.
-The big transfer of the summer for United will be the signature of Charlie Austin. Austin hasn't played much football at Burnley and Kevin McCabe looks set to wrap up a surprise permanent deal for the proven League 1 goalscorer.
-Wilson will also target Jamie Stephans and Stephan Darby from Liverpool, Simon Ferry and Paul Caddis from his old club Swindon.
-These are all targets Wilson wants, some may not be loan deals, some could be more permanent, especially with a big clear out expected at 'The Blades'. He is keen to bring some of his own staff in over the next few days with Paul Bodin expected to help John Pemberton with the youth team and ex Arsenal keeper George Wood to be coaching the goalkeepers.

Charlie Austin has not played much football at Burnley due to haning an operation to repair a dislocated shoulder. Please get your facts right.

Koumas? Phillips?

What decade do you live in? Let's go for Michael Brown, I say! He's the future!

We haven't got a pot to piss in.

Get ready for loans from Fleetwood and Mansfield.

Oh wait a minute, there wont be any loans. Now where did I hear that before?

The one good thing I see from that list is a goal keeping coach.

Paynter rumour might have some legs as I think he left swindon when Wilson was there. (not because of Wilson!)

We will need to get a replacement for Slew that's for sure.
ALF is a 4th div player so not so sure about him.
I think we will be using Cresswell more next season because he will be one of the few left.

Is the list above not just pretty much a list of anyone DW has worked with or loaned in the last 3 years.

Looking at that list, I think I am just going to close my eyes and have a little words to the man above for Eddie Newton as assistant

Danny's been in this league 2 or 3 years so he will know the type of players he wants. Depends on money he gets from out goings as to who he will be able to get in. Hope to see him build up a good enough squad of players in the next few weeks to be able to get off to a flying start and get the knockers on board.

Roland Nilsson, Nigel Worthington, David Hirst, Mark Bright and Chris Woods.

Blade58, I love the authority with which that poster has reported these rumours :D

Deluded.

I would be happy with Paynter, however he seemed to knock a few goals in towards the end of the season, I might be wrong though. We desperately need a good striker at League 1 level. Over that last couple of season Norwich had Holt, Saints had Lambert, Leeds had Beckford, Paynter & Austin both banged them in for Swindon and Morrison at Milwall did well. Hopefully we can get a 25 goals a season striker.

IMO ALF is not the answer, how about the lad Wood from WBA who knocked in a few at Brighton last season.

Did Wilson have Simon Cox when he was at Swindon? If so he has had three good strikers at that level, surely he can find us just the one :D

Billy Paynter is a good shout. I could see Wilson going in for him to replace Ched who will probably be departing one imagines. I have a feeling he might try to sign Jonathan Douglas as well, an experienced central midfielder who Wilson signed from Leeds. He's a half decent player and wont want to play in the fourth division.

Is it him that scored for Leeds against us in the 1-1 draw at Elland Road in our Promotion Season? I was trying to remember who it was just yesterday, and had an idea it was Douglas. Great strike anyway, whoever it was.

I remember that goal, it was a corker. I believe that was Frazer Richardson though. I think Douglas played most of his games for Leeds (if not all) in the third tier.

Don't be looking forward to good signings...Wilson was lucky when we had our play off season......mainly due to loan signings (Ferry , Ward and darby) , Jon Paul mcgovern had his first good season in 3 , 'Barn Door' Billy Paynter linked up well with Austin ( was not a wilson signing but our owners)...again service as due to loan signings ( that were not Wilson Signings either)...all his signings last season (rose prutton) were failures

Best wait to see who goes out the door first one thinks, i am guessing DW will have been told to use what he has first along with Juniors. If you think of our squad size including those injured all last season so fit for next add 6 youngsters you have a squad in Mc cheaps eyes even if we lose a few don't expect many in, except big names similar to france.

Which 6 youngsters do you reckon, cos it's looking increasingly likely that 1,2, or even 3 could be on their bike. The remainder, don't look ready for the first team squad yet.

What I do say is tho, we should not expect promotion this next season. McCabe's comments suggest this is goner be a long, long journey and if he's already talking about pehaps not being promoted and the season has not even began and knowing what he knows, tells me all I need to know about our chances next season! :(

Is Steve Kabba doing the rounds? I hear he is a bit nippy and would cost nowt.
Jack Lester back from Chezzy?
McCall & Pesch to come back as player coaches
Chief back out of retirement
Kidnap Nuddy and bring him back from Zimbabwe
Drag Keith Waugh out of retirement
Lee Morris used to be a bit good
George Donis is probably running a kebab shop in Blackburn
And isn't Tommy Johnson available on a free
If all else fails lets get Paul Shaw back.

Mmmmmm, the future.

I know Danny Webber is on a free, and what's Tongey up to?

If we don't make at least the play off next season, DW and the entire squad want shooting. With Southampton getting promoted there's now only SWFC, Charlton and Huddersfield out of the teams in League One who even got average attendances in 5 figures last season and all of them less than ours. Everyone else got average attendances less than half ours.

As Revolution as said elsewhere in terms of resources, no other L1 team can match us and most of them have the same relation to us as Swansea have to Man Utd.
