Willie was a Scouser.
Well at least we had some grass compared to the Baseball ground.but to be fair they managed to play some decent football on it.Great little player, him and Hodgson made from the same mould, both could plough through the Bramall Lane mud and were loved by the fans.
RIP Willie.
Same difference innit?Willie was a Scouser.
Remember being in the Liverpool stand (not the kop) for the semi final second leg. Incredibly intimidating.Them were the days with no segregation! Pockets of trouble yes but usually in good fun.
Unfortunately about that time real violence kicked in ! Can't be done today as idiots would kill each other.
Still do it in Liverpool it seems!Other cities! Well just dernt do it! No doubt some would end up in hospital with deaths a big risk.
How do they do it in Liverpool ! Respect for each other! Which has been lost elsewhere
I miss the banter of years ago on the terraces!, looks like it's lost forever! Apart from Liverpool it seems !
What a bloody shame.
Remember Liverpool for being bricked on the way in one year in the street and the coach being bricked on the way out another year. Lovely luvvable cuddly humorous gentleman them scousers.Remember being in the Liverpool stand (not the kop) for the semi final second leg. Incredibly intimidating.
Me too, was also in that pub that they attacked and trashed (Arkle I think).Remember being in the Liverpool stand (not the kop) for the semi final second leg. Incredibly intimidating.
Yes, my bad memory. Sorry Willie. You were still a good player for us. Clough knew what he was doing, not so Rowley.Willie was a Scouser.
Not seen the photo of the one patting Bernard Shaw on the back. Which ground was it?

I was at the game, am I imagining it, did he score with a header? if not it this it was in one of his early games for us. Great signing. Can picture him now, shortest guy on the pitch but a giant in ability and effort. Happy memories RIPHe scored the first goal in this debut and we went on to beat Newcastle 2-1
Yes but who was that right half Todd? So he had a back line of Todd? McFarland Mackay. Not a bad engine room that.Willie Carlin was by far the best signing Brian Clough made when he was at Derby.
So many put their success down to Dave Mackay's signing (including the Damned United) but Carlin proved to be the catalyst in securing Derby's promotion in 1968/69.
Conversely our season went into reverse.
RIP.
Great game that one at Upton Park, Two goals from Phil Cliff ( what happened to him?) We went barmy. Cockneys round us all match but didn't give us any trouble.
Todd didn't sign for Derby until 1971, the season they went on to win the 1st divisionYes but who was that right half Todd? So he had a back line of Todd? McFarland Mackay. Not a bad engine room that.
