Six wins in a row for Barnsley - free scoring Preston score Five!
 



There's a whole host of teams who have caught up with us and our form is dreadful. Who knows Either way, we're not going up.
 
I've gone for no. Peterborough and Barnsley are the form teams I'd be worried about. Also fleetwood Bradford and donny all waiting to pounce.

My hope preston go up in 2nd.

Would leave us with Swindon, mk and Barnsley as it stands. Don't fancy us even if we did make the playoffs.

If we don't beat walsall on Tuesday who'll have an eye on their Wembley trip god help us.
 
I'm just as fucked off as the next guy but let's not get hysterical.

Barnsley are on a good run, it won't continue.

We have a game in hand on the three teams below us.
 
Yes by the skin of our teeth and we won't win them. Simply because there are enough good teams to leapfrog us over 46 games. Not happy.
 
Said all season we'll get in the play-offs, but it's not looking good.

One thing I'm certain about is that we don't have a hope in hell of going up.

Over the season we have accumulated and the fact that we have points enough to have us in the play off positions IS the evidence that so far this season we have been good enough. On one hand, we have a useful point away from home, but on the other, one point in 9 is no good going forward. But I don't think we need to press the panic button just yet... Maybe at 2200hrs on Tuesday.
 
I think we will scrape into the play offs - but I just can't see us winning them. Brought too many average players in and lack pace, power and height. And continually worrying about the opposition and trying to keep it tight just doesn't work.
 
I,for one am very disappointed with the current performance level of the players, they are very good players at this standard yet are struggling with confidence !
What I am more disappointed in is the constant sniping, whinging and general doom and gloom that our so called supporters just love to post on here - I am sick to the back teeth of constantly reading the thoughts of YES Blade, robbiez666, Blader, the guy with the clown avatar and all the other Doom & Gloom merchants just revelling in our current poor form and seem to want the side to fail so they can come on here and be ultra negative.
Sorry guys, we don't need you - piss off back under the stones you emerge from every time we don't win - I for one am heartily sick of you !
 
Maybe, maybe not.

We have a snowballs chance in hell of being promoted through them, we simply aren't good enough on the pitch or off it.

Revelling? Fuck off. People are furious and no surprise that they are coming on to vent their spleen, their weekends constantly ruined, what would you have them do? kick the dog?

charming. Maybe people are sick of some posters coming on and saying "trust in Clough" and blindly backing him despite a dubious track record, consistently poor league performances all season, frequently poor management in the league and a bizarre transfer policy. And let's not mention his post match comments. He's spent more money in January than the sum total of the cost of most squads in the league. I think we're entitled to question both his and the team's performance and not just clap and blindly support somebody who is taking this club nowhere at the moment.

I understand the frustration, of course, given recent results, but we still in play offs and got a point away from home. I shudder to think what the Forum would be like had we lost. But hardly perhaps I should try to follow my own posting rules, don't get involved when emotions high, no need for Blades to pop at other Blades.

Wasn't a good point, take a look at Scunthorpe's form, and compare the squads and resources. Another two points lost
 
Looking at today's line up Brayford , Murphy, Done apart the rest aren't fit to wear the red and white

This! Not sure what happened in the last few weeks, however the teams belief has gone a bit like mine. I hve lot faith in clough and I wonder if some of the players have too.
 
I thought we would but agree with others that we won't. Belief is slowly being sapped from the team and we're in wretched form. It is not good at all.
 



We will finish 7th
Barnsley are on a role and a scoring goals so no reason they cannot maintain this as confidence is sky high.
Last 3 games played against 3 poor teams and 1 from 9 is relegation form.
Too many derby games left - we don't have the bottle for these and the way we set up (counter attack) does not win you such games.
For all our possession we just don't work the goalkeeper. That, more than anything is the key worry. We will not score enough goals as Done can't do it all on his own and if Murphy mis-fires we do.
We are too vulnerable at set pieces becuase we have no dominant centre half and a lack of height in centre mid.
Even though we set up not to concede we always concede. That's because we are dreadful at CB. The only pairing at CB that is any good is Basham and Kennedy and that's not the best in the division by a long way.
The lack of clean sheet stats and the dearth of goals scored is a toxic mix that means we are really going to struggle to maintain a top 6 position - and if we do scrape it we will not prevail against any of the likely candidates from Swimdon, MKD and Barnsley.

Look at how Villa have transformed under Sherwood after taking a more forward and positive approach. From sideways and backward to forwards and inside the full backs. They are creating chances now and talk g them. It's a mind set and helps players express their ability rather than constrain it. We are ultra cautious and slow to build - pretty much like Lambert's Villa team was all season. It's no surprise that you don't score goals of you don't get up the pitch and press the opposition.
