Not sure there’s really a lesson to be learned. The players aren’t good enough in high pressure situations. This has been evidenced on numerous occasions. Donaldson offered a lot when he came on, but when it mattered he missed a sitter. He did the same two or three times at Brentford. We need players that can step up in the big moments. When have we managed a smash and grab this season a la Aston Villa and Cardiff at our place? On the other hand, how many matches have we dominated and thrown away?

we are new to this division and the game management that worked well last season v lesser teams isnt holding up against a bit more quality

There is nothing to learn. The players just don't have enough quality in the final third. You can't learn that.

You’re right,it was Brooks. Sorry guys, He had a very good game but put in on goal left hand side of the box (around 70 mins I think), took 2 poor touches and never got it out from under him. Premiership quality striker would tuck those away first time. As I say, he had a good game and I’m a big fan - he wasn’t alone in squandering great chances
