As you say, not really bothered about being promoted next year as the Premier League is pointless at the moment. Championship is a far, far more enjoyable experience. I think we'll be promoted sometime in the next 5 years though, as realistically we are generally a Norwich/WBA/Leeds intermediate level club. Hopefully some changes will have been made to "improve the Premier League product" before we are back up! Oh and maybe, just maybe we might not sell our best player before the season startsWell I'm 69 tomorrow and I'd like to think we will have many more seasons in the top flight in my lifetime. Do I care up we go up at the end of next season? Do I hell they can shove the Premier league in it's present form up their arse. Nothing lasts forever the top six might piss off to some euro league, VAR might be abandoned who knows?
A quick look at where we are heading doesn't fill me with fear. Southampton will probably win the play off's leaving Leeds as the only half decent side in the Championship apart from the relegated teams. Norwich and West Brom are about as good as half a dozen other teams in there, the rest are shite even the pigs managed to stay up on the last day.
If the Prince and Wilder get their shit together there is no reason we couldn't bounce straight back, now whether they will/can is another question.
Watched them since 1965 and remember the Chelsea game but I still can’t believe we managed to throw it away v Fulham at home - 2-0 up and lost 2-3 mainly thanks to Alan Clarke. But we did get the 1971/2 promotion and that unforgettable 5-1 win over Cardiff.1968 first time i saw us relegated from the top division heartbreaker that was when chelsea scored their 2nd at the lane end but yo-yoing is very much part of our history as a club and cant see it changing all part of being a blade though utb fto
The only Blade player that seemed to care about winning that match was Wille Carlin.1968 first time i saw us relegated from the top division heartbreaker that was when chelsea scored their 2nd at the lane end but yo-yoing is very much part of our history as a club and cant see it changing all part of being a blade though utb fto

Martin writes that with 3 games left, we look forward to a promotion push next season. League table showed 4 games left, 15th place.
Right prediction..wrong division.![]()
You'll be at the San Siro in 2027 celebrating our shock Champions League final victory in the most amazing story in football history. You heard it first here!1976 was the first time I saw us get relegation from the top tier but I naively did expect us to return to the 1st division in a year or two. I was wrong as it took us 14 years for us to return to the top flight!
In 14 years time, if I am lucky, I will be 76 years old but I am wise enough not to expect us to bounce back in a year as in our history it has never happened that we bounced back to the top fight in one year.

76 we were down early but towards the end of the season we were ok
The worst relegation was 94 was really gutted with that last day defeat Wigan was bad as well
Hope you're right, but I don't share that optimism;I think we will bounce straight back. We’ll either win the league or the play-offs.
That would have been a relevant question when Don Givens missed a penalty as we slid into div 4 , but weve been back 4 times since1976 was the first time I saw us get relegation from the top tier but I naively did expect us to return to the 1st division in a year or two. I am 75 now so god only knows if I will see them again in the Prem especially if it takes us 14 years Quite sobering to even think like that. I can't see us bouncing back in the next year or two. The sale of the club must go ahead before we can really progress. Hasn't the Prince got some Saudi mates with some spare millions to invest. I am hoping the purchase of the new training ground, the purchase of the McCable land at BL and the restoraation of the hotel are going to make us more attractive proposition.1976 was the first time I saw us get relegation from the top tier but I naively did expect us to return to the 1st division in a year or two. Talking of ownership, I wonder what the chances are of that pillock popping out onto the pitch again? If we get new ownership we have to hope we’ll have a proper go at promotion and staying up there. Then we look to build the new training ground and update the off-site infrastructure.
It’s tough but not impossible.
Fantastic graphic GraphMan.This is my Bladercoaster. I only had room for managers at the end of each season. Funnily, the highlights were Darlington, under the stand at MK Dons singing Wilder's army and the Charlton quarter final. (I didn't get to Leicester). I saw the "Quality Goal" match, Sitting on the Ball v Arsenal etc but the 3 games above, for some reason, were the times when it just felt like a huge family party.
I was 70 last year Silent, it's the new 40!!

UTB & Slava Ukraini!
To be fair, in our history we’d never got pasted 8-0 at home, conceded over a hundred goals and failed to get even 20 points.1976 was the first time I saw us get relegation from the top tier but I naively did expect us to return to the 1st division in a year or two.
