Will Leeds result tomorrow

Determine how Wilder sets us up? Or will we go for the win irrespective? I'd say we will and so we should. Looking to win every game hasn't done us too shabbily this last few years.

There is a slight problem though.

Birmingham are more dangerous/ comfortable when they sit back in numbers defending, then they have space for quick counter attacks. They like playing Leeds United because they will go at them with their attacking play. Leeds had all the possession and many more attacks but Birmingham created the best chances and could have won 2 or 3-0.

So instead of being positive Wilder might be best being cagey.
Birmingham are generally better away than they are at home.
I suppose first goal could be key.

No, to get us where we are in our circumstances is incredible, no matter how that is done. What I tire of is people pretending we're always super attacking with super overlappy centre backs bombing forward all game, etc.

Stupid stuff like the Johnson sub last week does irritate me with Wilder though - he's so much better than mistakes like that, it almost appears they're deliberate.

The Couple of questionable substitutions apart I think he’s been much more tactically aware this season, last year I was wondering if he was a bit of a one trick pony as we played the same tactics every game even when it was obviously not suited post Coutts. (Wolves and Fulham away spring especially to mind)

We would never have got the Leeds, West Brom, Preston wins last season.

We've definitely taken a more measured approach, and Henderson and Egan have made a massive difference. We've found the balance needed to have a chance of automatic promotion. Fleck's played more defensively than last season, and McGoldrick's impact shouldn't be overlooked either - it's like having an additional midfielder at times.

It might affect what do in the last 15 mins, depending on the score. I could just about see us "settling" for a point if Leeds haven't won...

I think the last five or six games we have been more cagey in our play and Baldock, Stevens haven’t got forward half as much as they did early in the season. Brum game will be the same IMO.
 
One change JOC back in if fit.... usual game plan bring Mandie on if needed...

Agreed - we have been far more pragmatic in our approach since Villa and on the whole it had worked - right now it’s about results not performances (which it always is of course)

I’m not going to gloss over it, if we play cagey we generally look shit and don’t play very well at all, what we have to do is make sure we play our own game and not worry about Birmingham. We look very vulnerable when we play cagey and with a bit better finishing Preston could’ve had a couple of goals before our first on Saturday and that could make all the difference. We settled down after our goal but let’s not let that cagey start happen again, let them know who’s boss.

Agree. I'd start with Billy. Didzy with Duff behind knowing there was Madine Hogan and Dowell if needed.
 
If Leeds don't win we have a free hit and therefore should go for the win. If Leeds win we have to win to regain second so we should go for the win. Therefore whatever happens we will go for the win.

I'd add Brentford at home prior to the 2nd half attacking sub
 
I don't think we "go for it" as much as we did earlier in the season, more measured approach, for me if we go one up we don't go for the second with quite the same attitude as we did,not as exciting but it's working, I generally expect, before any game, we won't lose and I don't think we will on Wednesday.

This.

If Leeds win, although there will be twists and turns until the end of the season, there is no way we'll settle for a point in the last 10 if we are playing poorly.
 
if it goes well and leeds lose and we win to go 4 points clear
it means if leeds draw 1 of their remaining 5 games blades will only need 3 wins from 5

That just means we go for a win, which itself may require a bit of patience.

It's a fair question, but doubt he will go cautious. He went cautious against the S6 lot and Leeds, but as good as Prestons recent form - we set up to win the game.

What ever Leeds do - and I expect Preston not to lose especially after losing to us (they can't afford to lose 2 at home on the trot), I reckon CW will set us up to win at Brum. For sure as some have said, and I watched the Brum/Leeds game on Saturday, Brum sat deep and picked Leeds off. Adams was excellent - we need to keep a very careful eye on him.

We also "owe" Brum for last season - a game we went to. Very disappointing performance - we had, as CW said a few weeks before, run out of steam.

We won't run out of steam this season - we go to win.

Whether Leeds win lose or draw. We still need 3 points so we go for the win.
No need to set up negative against Birmingham, there on a terrible run, the amount of chances Leeds had Saturday they could’ve won 5-1
