Oh fuck off. When they pull on the red and white shirt they get my full support
Yeah me too mate, but if you can't laugh at a player...ANY player...lashing the ball into their own face with 10mins to go when we're 2-0 up, without finding it funny or telling another Blade to "fuck off" - then maybe you should take less water with it 👍🏻

Great assist after treading on it. He's clearly not a natural striker, the time it takes for him to get a shot off shows that. Why are people getting arsey about laughing at him kicking the ball in his own face, it was fucking hilarious? Prime Michael Brown could've done it and it would still have been hilarious. I thought it was the Barnsley fans booing him certainly no one sat around me booed.

It’s far more than that buddy.:People are actively looking out for things with him now and seem to relish in it.

The bloke is having s bit of a nightmare part of what until 18 months ago was a good career. It has happened to others it will happen to others again.

I think with McBurnie the harder he tries, the worse it could get and the bloke will be feeling it.

There is a mental health thread on general chat. Wealthy footballers aren’t immune

Solid points regarding mental health mate, and for what it's worth I don't agree with the abuse he gets. I'm frustrated with his performances but still think he could potentially come good, although by his own admission he's been "dogshit" for us.

I fully disagree with the abuse and I hope he sorts his performances out (for his sake as much as ours) and I was really impressed by his assist yesterday.

But I'd be willing to bet money that even Oli thought that was funny as fuck and had a good laugh about it with the lads afterwards!

Because it was, very funny 😂

To be fair, a good assist for the goal( after he nearly tripped himself up)
Nearly tripped himself up?!?! FFS.

Heaven forbid we blame MGW for the poor pass in behind him. McBurnie did remarkably well to adjust his body to play that ball.
Guess that doesn't suit agendas though does it

It's never too late for a player to turn his lot around at United (look at Robbo and Brewster) and that is why everyone should be behind him. I don't believe anybody wants him to fail, even those that boo, but there's better ways to help him and the team.

Don't know if this is old news but just noticed he's shut his Twitter down?

Anyone know if that's because of abuse?

Don't want to be too cynical but he wasn't brought in to make one or two assists per season, if we're judging a striker on that then we're really scraping the barrel trying to find positives..

He'll go straight to Rangers on a free when his contract runs out.

McBurnie, like all players following last season, needs good run of games in a winning team to rebuild his confidence.

It happened with Norwood, Brewster, Fleck, Berge and countless others to get that back (or up to) speed following that awful showing last time around.

It baffles me that fans believe players can warm the bench or get ten minutes here or there and somehow be an amazing player.

That never happens.

I thought he was comedy bad, other than the assist - which was great. He does put himself about, but his quality is now utterly shite.

He desperately needs a move, and will go down in history as our worst ever signing.
😂😂

Baffled!

Apparently I'm blocked, and all I've ever done on Twitter is send him encouragement, so god knows what's gone on there 🤷

(genuinely! I've only ever sent him about 3 tweets...one saying we believe in him, one saying he'd score against Swansea and one saying I'd get his face tattooed on my chest if he scored in the next match 😂)
Shit, maybe ha actually is Fallowfield and saw you laughing at kicking it into his own face on here!!

I do ah, but I can’t be arsed to waste a lovely Sunday arguing about it
Why do you feel the need to argue about it? I certainly don’t.

I’ve been a big fan of his, but that’s dissipated based on his performance / attitude. If he’d come out if he under 23’s I’d be expecting him to find another career, his performances are now that bad.

The fact that he cost north of £20,000,000, and won’t now raise a fee is disastrous from our point of view.

After making 3 appearances on loan we signed Geoff Horsfield for £1.6m back when that was a hell of a lot of money for SUFC to spend.

He never played another league game for us.

McBurnie undoubtedly hasn’t been value for money but we have made worse signings in our past.

I think in terms of return on financial investment, McBurnie takes the title hands down, due to his huge transfer fee the like of which Utd have never previously spent, even taking inflation into account.

The fee of course isn’t McBurnies fault, and there have been arguably worse players at Bramall Lane, but if we’d bought him for £500,000 he most likely, would get much less criticism.

Good shout - however, in my opinion the £20m for McBurnie greatly outweighs that fee, even allowing for inflation.

Also, we were promoted in spite of Horsfield. McBurnie’s lack of performance contributed directly to our relegation last season. And he’s continued to get worse, unfortunately.
