Indeed. Obviously if he hadn't mentioned it no-one would've noticed any mistakes had even happened would they?

Reporter: "Chris, about that mistake for their goal"
CW: "What mistake? I was just checking my acca on the phone when they scored. Knilly told me it was a screamer. Not that he saw it like, he was getting a bet on for 0-0".
 
I'm already so tired of this "criticising players" bollocks. Was he supposed to lie and say it was an unstoppable shot? He didn't say "Hendo's dropped a bollock, that's typical of him and probably the end to his career". We all know he'll be the first name on the team sheet this weekend and all Wilder said was a fact we all knew. The only way that interview could impact negatively on Deano is if he'd been sat at home, heard it, and suddenly realised "Oh shit, that WAS a howler". And if that's the case, Deano's got bigger problems with his sanity than can be fixed by an arm round the shoulder.

It’s now come full circle and most pundits are now saying he was right to say what he did.
 
It's called "tough-love". And I'm afraid it's gone out of fashion. It went out of fashion years ago in fact when it became wrong to discipline your kids. It's just an extension of that. It's perceived as wrong to say anything that may hurt someone's feelings - even if it's true. The same thing has happened in the workplace. I worked for a big organisation a few years ago that embraced this philosophy. You got better thought of if you f*cked up and admitted it, than doing it right in the first place.

I like Wilder's stand on this. He f*cked up, so no harm in saying so, and no harm in saying he needs to do better.

This is actually Henderson's 2nd big blunder of the season so far in 7 games (3 if you count the England tournament). Put simply, he needs to ensure it isn't followed swiftly by another one. Accepting all goalies make mistakes, and they do, he can't afford 3 blunders in 8 league games. Hopefully he'll put it behind him at Watford. If he doesn't then there are two other competent goalkeepers waiting for a chance of that shirt. That's life!
 



I haven't seen the pre match conference. I'd like a link. But I'd love it if someone asked him something like... So do you fancy your chances of getting a positive result at Watford. A six pointer in many ways Chris. What will be your approach.... To which he replies. No, we're just going down there to make up the numbers. We wouldn't even bother at all if we thought the only consequences were them being awarded a 3-0 victory. But no doubt we'd be deducted just sufficient points to be unfair on our fans, so we may as well turn up, and use neutral on the bus where possible to cut transport costs. :D

Who gives a flying fuck what the pundits and media say about CW. He calls it as it is, no pulling punches. He's fast becoming one of the most talked about Premiership managers and that can't be a bad thing for the Blades. We've finally arrived in the big time after so many years. Big difference this time is we've got a manager who doesn't care about what the media says and what's the norm for a newly promoted team to EPL. Embrace it, it's once in a lifetime. IN CW we trust. Demi God!!

Because it's a non-story recycled through the week by shit media. You snip out the part of Wilder's several post-match interviews that'll make a story, and then you follow it up with a week of shifting opinions. It's the media cycle of making a talking point out of absolutely nothing.
 
Anyone else think Chris is really starting to grow in confidence in this division? I've definitely noticed a change in tone. There was a touch of defiance when he said "Watford will expect to beat us, we're the bookies favourites to go down" & then later on "we're not aiming just to finish 4th bottom..."

I think he's measured this league up now & knows we can comfortably finish midtable.

Love his ambition.

What's a "gimp" suit? Is it a bit like a "track-suit"? Something you wear when you are going to partake in vigorous exercise? (Or if you're a Wednesdayite - something you wear to walk round in all day to look like you're a sporting person).

If so I've got one of them. Adidas one - 3 stripes down the leg of the pants - my initials on the top and on the pants. Top has a central zip which I like to lower a few inches so the ladies can see my hairy chest and my silver ingot.
