Wilder's Decisions

Don't want to go to panic stations, but I can only be as honest in my criticism as I have been in my praise: that was awful. McNulty should never have been recalled. Saving his wages was robbing Bradford blind. A few moments from Lavery were the only bright sparks. Basham made one major mistake in that first half, EEL had been looking awful from the first minute. If anyone should've gone off it was EEL; if I can hear Moore from the back of the stand then so can you. The goals conceded were cheap and easy to say the least. Fleck had a poor first half in particular, and when Fleck doesn't play well neither do United. Duffy seemed eager to prove the point that he has no left foot. Why it's so hard to cross a ball, I don't know, but if we could get just one in ten a little bit right it would be nice. Scougall misses out on MOTM but picks up UK's Hide and Seek Championship. Maybe try getting it in to Sharp's feet because, actually, he's not a bad striker. Maybe try not putting it up to Lavery's head.

Can't be bothered to paragraph the above, but if you hate wall's of text: I'm not happy.

My heart sank as i was driving to the ground and heard the team selection, why why why.

To be honest, I thought Lavery played well against Gillingham setting up Billy's goal, but of course he didn't score, so he had to be sacrificed in the desperate hope that McNulty had the magic touch. Guess what ? he didn't. Outthought by Rosler tonight Chris I'm afraid.

This is the point I'm trying to make.

We had a thing going for us, and it worked, but Wilder has fannyed about with it and it's produced some very crap football.

There are some questionable players in questionable positions.

What is he thinking?
Not sure Done or Wright started in our 6 game winning run. Biggest problem for me is Duffy's drop in form together with replacing EEL with Nyron Nosworthy

Tonight was too similar to last season and Clough's full season, too many small players, lack of height, aggression, drive and leadership. Wright has to come back he gives the defence (and the team for that matter) drive and leadership, we'd also get the old EEL back, once we get the rock solid defence back (the EEL-Wright-JOC back 3 has played together 7 times, won 5, drew 2, conceded 5), the rest is built on that.

All those calling McNulty tonight, far enough he was poor, but fat boy was just as bad, except we had him for 90 mins, not 45. Don't think anyone comes out of tonight with any credit.

Billy struggled like the rest but at least created a couple of chances for himself, McNulty created nothing, no doubt he was trying, but still the end result was nothing.

My heart also sank when it was confirmed Fleetwood were playing 3-5-2. Every team who've done that have got the better of us. And I knew they'd be at least as strong as us out wide with the wing backs. This in addition to our team selection, our struggles to score at home, their good recent defensive record and the fact it was a Tuesday night sealed it - there was no way it was going to be anything other than a defeat.

Another thing to add about the Scougall substiution - if he wanted to go to 4 at the back he should've simply moved Basham into midfield. He's far more effective than Scougall there. At least he'll win tackles, and his first touch is certainly no worse. He'd even be better than him on the wing FFS - we'd actually have somebody to knock it up to.
