You're clearly joking, but what if the shattered flag flew into the stands, pierced someone's neck and killed them? You wouldn't be laughing then, would you?

Peck should be disciplined for his behaviour and dropped, and you should have a think the next time you post in that manner.
I haven't laughed since the play-off final.

Peck should be dropped. Full stop.

He should.

  • Battery:
This involves the intentional or reckless application of unlawful force to another person. It's the actual physical contact, like a push or a slap, that results from the assault.
Types of assault based on injury:

    • Common Assault: No physical injury occurs.
    • Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm (ABH): The assault results in a "hurt" or injury that is more than "trifling" or "transient". This could include minor cuts or bruises.

    Basic lift from Wiki.

    Hope that helps.
Oh don’t be such a dramatic fanny!

He shouldn’t have done it, he should know better but he acknowledged it straight away and apologised. I’m sure we’ve all done the first 2 a few times, not everyone does the last.

He did it, he apologised, he got punished. Move on and stop using a pathetic excuse to continue dividing the fan base

Did peck get booked for that ???? I remember Vardy doing the same to that rainbow flag , he got booked at that occasion !

Mind you that ref was tit anyway didnt have a clue what he was doing or happening

The best thing is that I imagine the old guy who got a ball in the chops was made up that Wilder went and personally apologised to him. Probably the most interesting thing that happened to him yesterday!
On behalf of all people aged 70+, I would like to ask you if you had anything more interesting than that happen to you yesterday. The guy’s reaction seems to have been admirable, and there is no reason to patronise him because of his age…

I can't believe Peck's assault on the corner flag. Broke it right in half. What's wrong with this club? Kicking balls into the stand, breaking flags. I'm at the end of my tether.

You got past it though obviously. Was the tangerine tasty and was the hamster okay?

Have you actually watched it on the camera from behind the goal ?
Coops never touched the ball.
Just threw himself at striker's feet thereby bundling him over.
Clear pen.
I accept striker was looking for it by pushing the ball past Coops , but Coops definitely brought him down without ever being near the ball.
Coops made some strange unforced errors last night.
Quite out of character
.
Is it, the lad’s been a liability for a while now…

I wasn’t suggesting it was due to his age, just that as a Sheffield United fan it may have been an interesting occurrence during his day and that he probably wasn’t bothered nearly as much as the OP was suggesting.

In terms of my day yesterday it was pretty dull, the highlight could have been watching the Blades match at work but as it turns out that wasn’t very good.

Even the Wilder haters cant moan after just two games..
So they jump on this instead 🙄
If you complain about a ball hitting you at a football match...I dont know what to even tell you.
Probably didn't think he'd get hit with the ball during half time
Old enough to remember Brian clough smacking a fan on pitch but that was pretty wokism

What about Peck's assault on that corner flag? The flag was interviewed afterwards and said he was broken. Should have been a red card, a season-long ban, and Peck should be up in court today.

I hear they offered the corner flag a season ticket by way of compensation, for Peck's vicious assault.

When told that he wouldn't have to miss the rest of the season, as feared, while the replacement corner flag took his spot on the pitch, but would instead be given a great seat with a fantastic view of the pitch, to ensure he didn't miss a single second of the 25/26 season, here's what the injured corner flag had to say:

To be fair to CW he appeared very accepting that he'd done wrong and appeared quite conrite when he realised he'd been shown the red card - looked like that to me . I don't know if he's made any sort of public apology but if not, he should have.
I wasn't necessarily having a pop at wilder. More of an opportunity to throw in a Hamer shooting ability gag 😊

I'm sure the club will do something for the fella who was hit. Assume wilder will personally meet him, apologise, a bit of merchandise and maybe a hospitality package for next home game as Wilders cost.

My main issue is its likely an incoming 3 game ban. Might not matter if he's not on the touchline but still a little irresponsible risking that in our current position.

Nah, Davies will spend more time on the sidelines than this upright fella.

Tony Currie?
Yes, v Man City in the Anglo Scottish cup in August 1974. The incident baffled me at first, TC, on the John Street side received a pass , angrily picked the ball up and booted it to the back of the John Street Stand. Many in the crowd were looking at each other wondering what had happened. The ref decided to speak to the police and then word had gone round that there was a phantom whistler in the ground and the police were searching for the culprit as the match continued.

Tell me more. I was living away from Sheffield for 3 years of the TC era. He surely wouldn’t have miskicked it…

I can’t tell if you’re joking or not with this…

In the end nobody was injured ,fortunately, but what's slightly worrying is why did he feel that he had to do it, we'd just seen them miss a penalty it's half time, yet he goes and does that, yes, we all have moments I know, but it could have hit a child or an old lady and been far worse, maybe someone would have punched his lights out who knows, now he's got a touchline ban, great!.

I assume that TC was accurate enough to hit the bastard🤣🤣
Great story. Pretty sure I missed that match.

What has happened to this forum ,absolutely full of lily livered, self righteous fannies who just see every negative they can with the club they supposedly support, never a positive. Suppose its society as a whole but this is a Sheff Utd place. You cant even have a reasonable discussion anymore, they turn it into an anti Sheffield United diatribe.
It used to be great on here humorous, interesting and fun even when things were desperate , sadly all the old regulars have drifted away and been replaced by miserable, boring people.
You can have a triple "like" for that this forum hardly worth reading any more, full of "wokies"

It was, indeed, a phantom whistler, who was within my close vicinity when it happened. The ball didn't end up anywhere near the whistler, but was in the general direction of where he was.

We won 4-2, TC scored twice, Denis Law scored his last ever goal, he played in the last Anglo Scottish game against Oldham and then decided to retire. Our 4th goal was a powerful cross shot by Woody at the Kop End.

Wasn't it after our goal was disallowed in the 2nd half for a foul on the keeper? I worried he might have damaged his foot!

Just listened to Wilders 24 min interview on Radio Sheffield and its full of excuses for his actions. As usual no holding his hands up and saying i shouldn't have done it, I regret it etc. Its just slagging the ref off for sending him off. Goes on about friends in thr game, ex pros etc getting in touch and commiserating. Says he nonchalantly put the ball back to where it came from and got a flier on it. Maybe so but no contrition whatsoever. Symptomatic of it never being his fault for anything and shows hes not learned at all from his stint out of the game

For all you CW haters
McBurnie said "The C W is a special person and manager. I've a huge amount of respect and admiration for him.

"He's a top, top motivator and top man-manager. "I never played for anyone who can get so much out of you with motivation. I'm 99.9 per cent sure that most players who've played under him will agree with what I am saying.

It was as they were going off at half time, right in front ofnus
Sorry. For some reason I thought you were talking about the broken corner flag. Think I must have been reading about that prior to seeing your post (It was right in front of me as well).
