Wilder to Huddersfield

But someone told me the other day Huddersfield were not looking for a new Manager. I did say that they had asked a few questions. Wilder isn’t interested by the way.

I'm not surprised they sacked him to be honest, I've been saying for weeks he looks absolutely lost, no idea what to do to get out of the situation they're in.

Think he'll get a new job pretty quick sharpish though, maybe a Championship team with a bit of money because no doubt he's done well with 'Uddersfield but it's just all took it's toll by the look of it. Forest?

Apparently want Allardyce, but he's be risking his no relegations record big time.

They have 3 good players. Nowhere near enough to keep them in the division.

I’d fancy us against them right now without question.

Strange one. Huddersfield are as good as down and their squad is his and contains very little quality. May as well have waited until the summer.

Stoke, Forest and now Huddersfield. Three of the teams I’d thought might want CW.

A gathering tsunami of regret for Steve Bruce?

Apparently they didn't sack him.

His decision alone.

Think that's a decision in the best interests of the club so fair play to him. They might be too far gone but as I said, he just looked like it was getting too much, and what he was doing wasn't working.

Just checked Paddy Power for next Uddersfield manager odds, Nigel Adkins is at 25-1, Wilder doesn't even make the list.

'Appy days

Not even being sarcastic here but they may as well let Allardyce have a crack at it until the summer, then make a long-term appointment then.

He’d need his udders feeled to go there

Did someone say "udders"?

He's always looked sickly, so I can't tell whether it's all got too much for him.

He'll have six months of all you can eat buffets, somewhere warm and come up smiling in the Bundesliga for the start of the 19/20 season. If he was so concerned about the best interests of the club, he wouldn't have assembled their current squad. ;)

Allardyce on a 6 monther is possibly the best they can hope for. Come the summer, if we're still in the champ and so are they, CW might think differently. He could basically go there, double his, AK and the stroppy blond haired one salaries, and recreate Blades v2 there with our best players all on £5k a week extra, get Hendo on loan again and bring in the players who he wished he could here, all on parachute £'s.

If you were Steve 'Pillsbury Doughboy' Bruce, you'd be livid at the moment, you'd have fancied yourself in any of those three roles.

If I was them I’d be saying to prospective new managers that they’ve got a free swing this season- keep us up, you get a whacking bonus (and a massive achievement on the CV which would almost guarantee another fire fighting job later down the line). Go down? Not your fault, damage was done and you will get the chance to rebuild with parachute money and go back up.

The fact the club haven't come out and made a statement quashing these rumours says it all.

My Wednesday mate is hoping history repeat's itself..Steve Bruce left us due to lack of funds and boardroom upheaval, and went to Huddersfield
Not a chance pal...

Chris Wilder would have nothing to gain and everything to lose by going to Huddersfield. He’s more sense than to leave 2nd in the Championship Sheff Utd, the club he loves, the team he’s built, for bottom of the Prem Udders.

Steve Bruce on the other hand will be getting his advisers to urgently check the small print on the contract he’s signed over at the decrepit Rust Bucket. That’s assuming he’s actually signed one. It might just be a verbal agreement of “yeah I’ll sign it just as soon as I get back of my hols. pass the lotion love, who was that? Oh no-one important”

Usual positivity from Nick.
