Wilder - The moment

I'd be lying if I didn't admit to calling for his head through the first 4 games, thought, here we go again another mistake, season over before it starts, reight w@nker.........

But that's why he's a great manager and I'm just a supporter!

Love ya Chrissy
Think we done the same....... and look what happened to us both

The quality of football is immeasurably better than under either Bassett or Warnock. That may be irrelevant to some but it's absolutely fundamental to one or two of us.

Some of the football under Warnock was pretty good (many matches during 2002-3 for instance). The style was different, but contrary to the alteration of history that you often portray it was certainly not all hoof.

I would accept that the football under Bassett was of a poorer quality, but for the most part it was at a higher level than that of Warnock or (so far) Wilder and Bassett was probably working under greater financial constraints.

I admire the superb football we play under Wilder. It is unquestionably better than that produced by the other two. Why be suspicious or defensive about that?

S2 - Uncomfortable with quality since time immemorial...

And Wilder's going into the unknown (again) next season, managing at ever higher levels.

Will he stumble a bit along the way, will he make mistakes adjusting?

Of course he will . The problem with us fans , we can't hold our nerve , like some of the young ens can't hold there beer .

It's not being fickle , I think in the cold day of light , we can't wait , but are filled with intrepidation . Bit like meeting a lass at Coles Corner for the first time .

Might be being naive here, but honestly reckon that Wilder will be granted loads of leeway next season (if he needs it, that is). Just think that very large reserves of goodwill have been stored away for use when needed, especially over recent weeks.

We all hope that CW goes from strength to strength in the Championship but CW knows he will be judged by results and the position of the team in the league by the supporters and the owners. Whatever goodwill he has collected this will erode very quickly ask Claudio Ranieri, football fortunes can change in the blink of an eye. As for the fans not holding our nerve, if it goes tits up I would speculate the owners would lose their nerve first. Hopefully he will get a decent war chest spends it wisely achieves the results we need and everyone stays happy. Time will tell let's enjoy the journey.

Think that Claudio Ranieiri's situation's very different to Christopher's tbh. Also, Leicester fans are fucking idiots, who use those plastic clapper things & reckon it's OK to abuse the Spanish while in Spain.

Defensive? Don't think so and I'm not uncomfortable with quality. That is why I am open minded enough to recognise that under Warnock we often played some very good football. Something you pretend never happened.

I am more optimistic about our fortunes than I have been for about 40 years and I recognise that under Wilder we are also playing very good football. But so far it is very good football in the third tier. Hopefully it will be continued at the next level and the one after that. Nothing would please me more than for Wilder to take us to levels of success not seen in living memory.

There. That's probably guaranteed everything will go belly up. Usually does when I get optimistic!

Got to say, i've absolutely loved every moment with Wilder at the helm, he's proved he is more than up to the job and seeing his interviews this season he's just grown on me more and more. As i've said, he's the sort of guy you'd want to work for. Bloody love the bloke.

Can't remember when this was posted originally, but it must've been when he was touted for the job. End of a shit season and all sorts of names were cropping up. Like others, i was initially cautious of the 'Bladey blade' factor.

But someone posted this video. I think thats pretty much when i was sold. There is honesty and passion in him and as we've seen the last few months and days, he's ambitious.

I loved his comments post match about how the line up v Northampton "didn't really work" as much as i love the 'barrel of money' rendition and leading the crowd with 'Shoreham boys'

Its not even about our club but you just have to love the way he talks like he's talking to a mate in the pub.

This fella is taking us a long way. As i said on Sat/ Sun, his ambition will only be restricted by finances.

I was up for Wilder in 2010.

I remember listening to a story told by Jan Molby about his debut for Liverpool.

He was sat in the changing room before the game awaiting instructions from the manager and there were non forth coming. [can't remember if it was Shanks or Paisley] At 2.50 he couldn't contain himself any more and asked the manager what he expected of him? The reply was; get out there son and I'll be the first one to tell you at the end if you're crap.

Sometimes you need to trust them and not stiffle them with method.

Remember being at Grimsby when Wilder brought the ball down and passed it into midfield. Warnock got off the bench and gave him a right bollocking for not hitting it long behind the opposite full back - now thats method/system football that Blackie still uses and stiffles the players thoughts.

He has had lots of success in the past so why would he change?
