Got to say, i've absolutely loved every moment with Wilder at the helm, he's proved he is more than up to the job and seeing his interviews this season he's just grown on me more and more. As i've said, he's the sort of guy you'd want to work for. Bloody love the bloke.

Can't remember when this was posted originally, but it must've been when he was touted for the job. End of a shit season and all sorts of names were cropping up. Like others, i was initially cautious of the 'Bladey blade' factor.

But someone posted this video. I think thats pretty much when i was sold. There is honesty and passion in him and as we've seen the last few months and days, he's ambitious.

I loved his comments post match about how the line up v Northampton "didn't really work" as much as i love the 'barrel of money' rendition and leading the crowd with 'Shoreham boys'

Its not even about our club but you just have to love the way he talks like he's talking to a mate in the pub.





This fella is taking us a long way. As i said on Sat/ Sun, his ambition will only be restricted by finances.

I was rather sceptical when he was appointed

Not because I doubted his ability

But because I thought the boardroom would appoint him and hang him out to dry

With this being Wilders biggest challenge so far and being a fan of the club I thought he'd get no support from the boardroom

He is because he will take us up again if anyone can. It won't take him 6 years either. And it isn't all about him, he is a leader.

I know you want to put your mate into the equation but Wilder is a class above. In 10 years time his record will be better as well.

If he does take us up again tgen he will be the best manager since Bassett
Whether it's all about him or not he is not my mate I just don't admonish his achievements or anyone else's due to personal dislikes and again if wilder achievements in 10 years are better then great ,I personally prefer him as a person to Warnock too but his achievements in the game so far are not as good as Warnock ,especially for this club
 
Wilder has a lot more tricks up his sleeve than Dave Bassett, no disrespect intended to the great diplodocus himself who was what we needed at the time, but CW can change things around as needed and really kick on from here. IMHO.

In fairness, Wilder has done all he could do.... realistically. Its been just the one season.

Personally as much as i liked Bassett and Warnock, I think Wilder is a different class to them both... but that will be seen in the Championship

Mr too but for all we know he could be out of a job by Xmas so anyone saying he is our best manager since Bassett is just being deliberately antagonistic

They will be, that is my point but I understand why you disagree. I think if you read back over the years you will see I have said his achievement of getting us up was considerable. What I would say is Wilders achievement of getting us up at the first time of asking is even more remarkable. I also remember Warnock flouncing off Woodwardfan style to Portsmouth for that job he was offered, but wasn't, but was. Just before the game against the filth as well. I never forgave him that or the time he tried to get his contract negotiation as headline news the week before the Wigan game.

He did a great thing getting us promoted but unlike Wilder he dragged us through the dirt.
 
It's took him one full season to get us promoted, was Harry the last manager to do that? If so, in the short space of time he has been manager, he is the best manager we have had since Harry. Who else has achieved what he has in 10 months?

So by best manager you just mean the one you like the most .what if wilder leaves us to manage the pigs does he go below Warnock in your league table ?

Yes. Let's see if it happens, or if we get a game abandoned with 6 players on the pitch, or he gets hated by every club in the football league so transfer dealings become more difficult, or he courts another club in the middle of a season when we are top of the league and on, and on, and on.

If these things happen Wilder will sully his reputation with us. As it stands I would wager none of these things will happen because the man has class. Everything he says and does is about us and not him. I value that very highly.

Reg Freeman also took us up in his first season (1952-53)

I'd be lying if I didn't admit to calling for his head through the first 4 games, thought, here we go again another mistake, season over before it starts, reight w@nker.........




But that's why he's a great manager and I'm just a supporter!

It looks like Wilder's even counteracted the Blaaaaayds way mate and we're gonna piss and win this feckin league ;)
 
I thought he'd have been a cheapo

Appointed by McCabe to reduce the wage bill further and get zero help

I mean what better manager to accept "The Blades never have any money and always fail" than a fan

Glad he's managed to achieve miracles after the shyte of last year

I don't think its antagonistic to suggest that he's a better all round manager
