As opposed to the thick minded Wilder out boys.

So the entire fan base must be thick because they either support Wilder or not.

Lets go QPR and try 21 different managers in 10 years.
How has that worked for them?

Lost 1.4 at home to Ipswich today.
Whereas we lost 5-0 to Ipswich, switched to Wilder after that game and we are no better

A frankly stupid narrative seems to have developed amongst some since the summer that Wilder is the only manager we could attract that could possibly be successful with us. Obviously that isn’t the case, but if it was, what an extremely negative picture that paints of the club. It’s a loser’s view.

It was a mistake to bring him back on both occasions, but that’s on the respective owners who made those decisions. The day is coming, probably next summer, when we are going to have to finally move on from him. Until then, the club won’t move forwards. But I really feel for the next manager who will be on a hiding to nothing with a big chunk of the fans, no matter who it is.
Totally agree & Selles was always on a hiding to nothing after ‘92 points’, unfortunately he was actually shit. If we carry on like this maybe more people will accept Wilder isn’t the answer anymore & we can finally move on without him hanging over us and have a clean slate.

No other club in the top 2 divisions brings the same manager back for a third spell in 4 years by the way - shows how shockingly we’ve been run for the past few years.

And presumably we’ve only interviewed for the Manager role once (Jokanovic) since appointing Wilder in 2016 - it’s actually laughable.

Callum O'Hare was great today.
No-one else was.
It was utterly awful, as bad as anything under Selles.
Wilder looks spent, and whilst it's the board's responsibility for asking him to come back, it's totally his responsibility for saying "yes" (possibly with strings attached!), and the fuck-ups since he came back are completely his responsibility.
I've had a bellyful of his excuses, demeanour, and complete lack of responsibility for any of the current situation, and wish he'd just bugger off now. His "glory days" are long gone.

I'm not opposed to Wilder going at all as I never wanted him back the second time, let alone the third. He isn't improving anything much now and you can sense the crowd is now turning against the players in the stadium. As far as I'm concerned, he's done and he won't improve anything from here on in. We'll just drift.

But seriously, who is out there that we can bring in that has a clear plan to move out 8 or 9 players from the present squad and bring in the 6 or 7 we desperately need?

Who do we put our trust in?

COH haven't got a clue themselves so who are they going to listen to?

utb

Jamie Hoyland of course with a snake wrapped around his leg

Agree with that.

Wilder is only part of the problem.
The biggest problem are COH. I do not trust them, specifically regarding recruitment.

Fair play to Stephen Bettis for doing the interview, but it was like watching the Iraqi information minister. Silence from those above Bettis, a complete and utter lack of accountability.

Everyone in this sorry state of affairs shares blame.

COH - inexplicably every decision made has been wrong. Almost impressive to be this bad.
Selles - simply not up to the job, lost the players after the on pitch dressing down, inability to influence off pitch decisions.
Wilder - marginal improvement vs statistically one of the worst managers of all time. Remains stubborn and refuses to take accountability.
Existing Squad - downed tools for Selles, unfit, lack fight, mentally weak. Regressed ability wise.
New signings - Too few in time for the start of the season, too much dross panic bought at the end. mostly garbage, worse than what we’ve got.
Departing Players - inevitable some were to be sold, but the attempts at replacing are laughable

We’re in for a long long season, where a 21st place finish is the aim.

After a decade flirting with progress, in one fell swoop we have reverted to type and are a below par championship team with ambitions of relegation. Sorry state of affairs.

He won’t resign, he’s out of options
We have made him a millionaire and someone says he'll resign no way ,without out another payout, plus he knows where the backdoor is and as for AK is he 1 those aliens they call The Greys just stands about looking gormless👽 ,has ANYONE ever seen him some any PASSON, another wage thief

Should never have even been in the frame after Hecky got the boot. That was the chance to do a full reset with a new manager in what was a free hit of half a season to change style/scouting etc.

Board just appeased the thick minded wilder fan boys by bringing him back.

And before anyone says 92 points blah blah can I just remind everyone we bottled getting automatic in a week and then bottled a play off final we were in control of with him overseeing it
And, arguably, with the best squad in the division

Yet somehow we were.
State of the division, Leeds & Burnley were streets ahead of anybody, the rest were dog shite! Even worse this season, the standard of football in this division is at its lowest for years!

negative football and now conceded 6 on trot. Some shocking individual mistakes, but overall it is piss poor. First thought is to play the ball back instead of turning and attacking (apart from O Hare). That is on Wilder.

All you have to do is close us down and we fold
Hence pillock Peck and goal 2

Posted in another thread. Same gist RE Wilder.

TLDR. Clubs an outdated wankpuffin and Wilder and his cult are a symptom of basicness.

We’re an outdated mess of a club! We’re at the mercy to a semi-decent football league manager, who has somehow infected a vocal minority of our fanbase with his outdated, war-time rhetoric which has created some weird cult of personality.

The sad fact is. He’s no different to the approach we’ve had since we fell out of the old First Division in the mid-70’s. We’re still the same club we always were, whilst every other club, bar our neighbours, has at least modernised and adapted to the direction football is going.

We’re still playing this martyr, plucky, “proper football club” card. We shit ourselves anytime we try and at least modernise or TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT. Since relegation in the 70’s; we’ve never had any long term success, because we try the same short minded approach every-time. Basic, hardworking players, a back against the wall mentality and because of this, the majority of our fans think the barometer of success is how hard you can punch your chest.

Selles was a fucking stupid decision, but it doesn’t mean we have to go back to typical “pashun united”. It’s pathetic.

Show some fucking ambition. We’re a big club, still. Go and pinch a manager who’s doing amazing at another club, have someone who knows the game with connections all over the football pyramid to oversee basic football operations, invest in the youth, invest in a proper scouting infrastructure.

We had 4 years of great success, that was the time to really go for it and modernise, and cement ourselves as a top flight club, or at least a club with top flight resources. Such a fucking waste.

We have new owners, who have fucked things up. My one hope is they see what other American owners have done to Bournemouth, Wrexham even Birmingham, much more unfashionable clubs than us, and think, actually there is a way.

I’d take relegation and a solid 10 year plan to spark life into us. But it’s too late, PL is becoming a closed shop and we’ve dicked about for too long and missed that boat.

Would losing to Wednesday swing the majority against Wilder do we think?

It definiely would.

He has his faults and this spell isn't working out as we all hoped, but we really do have some entitled wanker fans. for the avoidance of doubt... WANKER FANS.

100 points in L1, beating that lot at the Pig 4-2, promotion to the Prem and toe to toe with Manyoo etc doesn't give him any credit in the bank. How any Blade who isn't 7 years old, can talk about 'worst home gane ever', is unbelievable. Have people forgotten haslam, Peters, McEwan, Robson, Weir, Adkins?

Wilder deserves some slack for giving us our club back 2016-2020. Sadly, much of our curret fanbase doesn't see it that way. It's all about getting on Tiktok/X/S2 as soon as possible, to get the first caustic comments in.

He’s had plenty of slack, more than any other manager would have.

If that view makes me a wanker fan then so be it

He deserves no slack for past achievements. He deserves gratitude for it, but certainly not slack. Every manager has a shelf life with any particular club and once it’s no longer working they shouldn’t be kept on for reasons of sentiment.

For the record, I wouldn’t be sacking him now, but I’d certainly be looking at a change in the summer.

Yes, its the fans fault.

Blast those fans who want more than insipid, turgid, dull football on a weekly basis.

No slack, but grattitude? That;s some kind of srange value system you have.

IMHO, obviously.

Who are we bringing in then?

Loads of them out there gagging for it. Apart from them that aren't.

Obviously, ANYBODY is better than Wilder....

...until they aren't.

I think the anti-Wilder brigade must be struggling with the next step. What's that nice Mr Adkins doing these days?

Or thise who slavvered about the wonderful chaotic football promised by the second coming of Christ, RS.

That worked out well.

Selles who has the spine sold and not replaced you mean?

Wilder was great, best football in my lifetime supporting a blade.

But 2016-2020 wilder is long gone. This one is unrecognisable.
