Just bloody missed him as my browser wouldn't play it.

Switched just in time to hear the after discussion, which as you say was very complimentary

Pigs are kicking off at them on Twitter

Goughie spluttering about Bruce in case he ever has to go back to Barnsley.

I'm not generally bothered when outsiders and the media don't give us much credit as I'd prefer to go about our business quietly, but it does seem to me like the subject is mainly about Leeds failing rather than the miraculous transformation that's happened since CW & AK walked through the doors.

Especially on our budget and the fact our players hadn't really been heard of before we came into the Championship (bar the Captain and now Didsy).

To put it in perspective a little further, IF we beat Ipswich tomorrow then we'll have gained promotion ahead of giant clubs in Aston Villa and Leeds.

And if anyone says something like 'the league that season you went up was shite' I'll just remind them of the clubs involved.

Last week many said Durham doesn’t like Sheffield United.
I explained he’s playing a game and will say anything to get callers and tweets.
He thrives on being the pantomime villain, it’s not personal, he’s just doing his job.

Tonight he’s proven this because he’s given Wilder and Sheffield United gushing praise.
Said we’d be a great addition to the Premier League and will improve it.
Also said it wouldn’t surprise him if we stay up because Wilder is a special manager.

Put it this way, his praise for Sheffield United was so strong
That Darren Gough mentioned that they’d received loads of unhappy tweets from Wednesday fans.
Gough felt like he had to say Bruce is doing a great job and next season they have a great chance of joining us in the Premier League.

That’s because Goughie’s dingle mates will batter him when he goes home.

I've listened a fair bit to Talksport in recent weeks and Durham said he wanted Leeds up last week as did Jim White, so whatever he's said today bigging us up doesn't carry as much weight in my view. But fair play that they've done an interview on us, we certainly deserve the exposure.

They are f-in clueless. Heard a bit the other night where they were hoping that Leeds could go up as with Huddersfield being relegated Yorkshire wouldn’t have had a Premier league team. Then they realised we were in the mix. They also had that Palace owner Simon Jordan on last week saying we were only a medium sized club and that Wednesday were far far bigger. Wanker.

Still Radio 5’s pre season Championship special didn’t mention us at all. Not once.

That’s why, in the words of Kevin Keegan, I’d just love it, if we get into the PL.
The pundits won’t have a clue and will automatically assume Wilder is Warnock Mark 2, an outspoken gritty Yorkshireman motivating his players to run through walls playing a gritty physical direct/ long ball game.

You’ll hear the old cliche “your know what you get with a Chris Wilder team, the players work so hard”.

When we start knocking the ball around keeping good possession and overloading the wings, they’ll be speakless.
Chris Wilder could become a national media sensation, like what Harry Maguire did in the last work cup.
Wilder and Sheffield United might even become fashionable.

I think you'll be disappointed mate with how we end up been perceived in the PL if we go up. Even in the Championship, I've seen many pundits say stuff like we're gritty, hardworking and can win ugly, totally ignoring the good play we have done as they've only watched the games where we've beaten Leeds and West Brom and have shown we can win when the occasion is less likely to allow free-flowing football.

Most of it between ads!

I don't to talksport much but fuck me I couldn't listen to Darren Gough every day he's shit!

When heard Simon Jordan saying Wednesday were the only big club in Sheffield, I was so angry I sent my first ever text to a radio station:

‘Simon Jordan is a fool. Sheffield United get bigger attendances than Sheffield Wednesday AND Crystal Palace!‘

They didn’t read it out though

Jordan would probably say that’s irrelevant. It what happens on the pitch more than what happens off it.

He’d say it’s all about perception. He’s seen Leeds and Wednesday compete to win the Premier League, so in his eyes he’s seen them be major players in the Premier League buying top end players. However United have always been almost entirely bottom half when we’ve been in the PL buying bargain players. Also to be fair before the war we spent almost our entire history in the top flight but after the war our record is pretty poor really (since the war we’ve spent 23 seasons out of 72 season (32%) in the top flight).

United need to have a season similar to what Wolves have done for media to start thinking we’re a big club.
