Ill give CW that one.

Now he needs to get busy on the training pitch and importantly, start dropping players who are doing nothing. Some are getting picked on past reputation rather than what they are actually producing on the pitch right now.

And can anyone tell me why Cannon gets on the pitch rather than One ?
Peck, Campbell and o hare

I think that ,in no particular order, Peck,Godfrey,Matos and (sadly),O'Hare need leaving out till they sort their own particular skill/awareness problems out on the training ground.
I could name more, but we'd have no team left..!

2nd half chaotic
Guys nervous and anxious
No control of game
Created very little
Never got to grips with the game
Decent 1st half
Game lost by poor decision making
Cannot be hung ho
Poor goal to concede
Lots of work needed on training ground

Sounded very downbeat
Yeh Chris, but you're in charge now not selles

I’m not surprised, he’s 5 defeats away from a third Blades sacking

This, he needs to shake the squad up or is he going to resort to type and keep picking non performers as per Brewster and Robinson

Was impressed with his accurate assessment and honesty in the post match interview.
If you see the issues then you can do something about.

No doubt Selles would have said he was happy with much of the performance and he can see improvements
But they just need to work harder on the training pitch and he still feels optimistic we will rise up the table.

OVERALL
I thought we played better than under Selles and the players seemed more determined.
Defence was good most of the game but for some reason became too open and careless in the last 10 minutes.
Wilder insinuated that we could have got a 0-0 draw but for some reason the players seemed too set on trying for a 1-0 win and became too open at the back.

Think midfield was decent too. Peck was back to nearer last years form, showing for the ball and loads of sideways passing, he was the same last season, no goals and hardly any assists but he does keep possession well and needs 1 or 2 creative players to pass to.
Thought Mattos was quick, very busy ball winner and a hard worker……however there was ZERO creativity or attacking threat from either of them.

Thought attack was really poor…..my issue was the lack of running into space….no belief or confidence.
Campbell seems to have lost form….whereas Cannon has no form because he never touches the ball ever in any game.
Appreciate Cannon might need setting up but he never makes any runs into space, seems a bit slow with weak physicality.
We did plenty of attacking but Charlton were so organised with numbers back in defence.

Our play was decent but we never looked like scoring and that is the big concern. At least Wilder knows this and will be working on a solution.

Finally a positive. I thought he’d blame the referee and try and deflect. He’s wrong about the decent 1st half though. It’s was like a time warp back to the end of last season.

Agree….when he says decent….he's talking about control.
We had Charlton pinned back for most of that 1st half as they were forced to defend in numbers.

A few around me were saying we thought we’d played OK in the 1st half….better than under Selles
Then someone commented we’d never really threatened to score…..so it’s no good having all the patient build up play if it amounts to nothing.
Thought we’d come out stronger 2nd half kicking towards the Kop
But it was disappointing….we dominated the centre circle area, had quite a lot of attacks but again never looked like scoring.

we miss Vinnie more than anyone else.
No one takes responsibility and controls the tempo of the game and is a physical presence in the middle of the park, I.e. does two jobs, both of which are lacking in the current set up
Yes, well done Hecky for signing him. There’s no surprise that Preston are now on an upwards trajectory with a fraction of our resources. Stupid decision to bin him off when we did. Just one in a series of stupid decisions that have led us to where we are. But Vinnie didn’t want to be here.
