Posting on multiple threads here about this interview so created one instead

Centre back position No1 target no Stearman in particular

3 contracts offered verbally accepted

most of the transfer listed lads look to be heading out on loan

Interview in full below, Wilder seems quite relieved/jovial

Listened too it earlier well worth a listen.

Hussey/Wilson/reed all out on loan. Most likely done by Monday.

Some discussions with burton re: Brayford

Done might be the hard one to shift. Although I'm sure Brayford won't be easy.

And to think, we spent about £2.5m on the pair of them in one transfer window. As a L1 club.

It's frustrating with Burton because they have us by the short and curlies.
He will basically only put a shift in for them, he doesn't really want to play under anyone but Clough so there's one team that he can go to so they know they don't have to pay over the odds to get him.

We shouldn't be selling a player to Burton as we may well in relelgation fight with them next season.

Not letting them have him weakens them.

This can't be right. We've already been told that Billy, Bash and Coutts are smashing the lot up as they are now thousands out of pocket each week.

What about if we tell them Done is also a quality wingback?

That might work with the Pigs, or Adkins next team, but not with Clough... He did sign him as a striker for us after all
Oh yeah.
Joke fail on my part.

Well that interview just about confirms what all the ITKers have been saying all week. Wilder sounded desperately unhappy about the state of the club, and just his general persona seemed a little off.

It's always great to hear Wilder talk. I feel motivated just listening to him.

Towards the end of that interview I thought he was so relaxed and happy that maybe he'd been on the Pironi again.

I think he's just a little frustrated about the complexity of every deal. I'm sure Stearman must have taken a large cut in wages to come here, probably balanced by a string of incentives.

IF and I sress IF,Freeman declines and his agent punts him out to other clubs what do folk think would be a good price for him. Based on his age and last seasons superb showing I would seriously ask for offers in excess of £3m.
Todays market that is fuck all in the Championship, let alone the Prem.

I don't agree with this.
Brayford is a pro, he will perform to his best if he was to stay at United.
But the fact is, Wilder has decided he wants him off the wage bill. So he really has no future here. He has the option to go wherever he can get a deal, but of course Clough particularly likes him and would love to have him in his team.....in much the same way wilder is doing all he can to get Holmes.

He was playing perfectly well for Cardiff just before he was transferred, and Cardiff fans were disappointed he left.
The problem we have now, is that he's a couple of years older and had a nasty injury, so he's not the same player we bought.
So the number of interested clubs are not there now, and his value has dropped. Likewise that means finding someone capable of taking on what he will be on with us is also a problem.
So we either hope we find someone to take him, or we cut our losses and let him go at a price clubs will decide is worth a risk. If we do that, then we may find a few clubs interested, not just Burton. In fact, I'm sure if Brayford said now he would take a 50% cut to stay Wilder would keep him!

Would he be considered a championship full back at the moment having not yet played this season.
Granted he did very well last season, so in that alone he would have several interested parties. But last year of his deal?
I would say you then have to weigh off his value to the club this season, and we now have a player possibly as good who could replace him in Baldock. Therefore he is replaceable. So if he's saying no to a deal, and then someone offers £500k....I think we would be very tempted to ensure we get something.
After all, I doubt he is on mega money now and so he may be expecting a pretty big new contract.

But in all honesty, I think £1m would be good business in the current situation.

I disagree. An attacking wingback, mid 20's 10 goals is worth £3m of anyones money. His value isn't determined by the unanswerable question of how he'll go this season, but on what a buyer sees and likes. Wilder hasm't bought 4 lower league players worrying about how they'll go in August in the Championship.

Only got a year left though SBT.

On a longer contract I'd agree totally on your price but if he doesn't sign an extension then he's in the last year of his contract so price plummets as can sign pre contract in January and leave for nowt.
