Wilder heading of to stoke

The boardroom need to sort their proverbial out, or one of these times Wilders going to be tempted.

As much as he loves the club, it's his job and his life. (I love the job I do and the company I work for, but if a rival came in and offered me more money then I'd be a fool not to consider it) Personally can't seem him going this time due to the club and the fact he's just signed 2 players.

But each time a new vacancy comes up I'm starting to worry a little more.
 
Could be used by CW as a bargaining chip in many ways, not only for his own package but in respect of transfer funds and future guarantees.

Do I think he will be remotely interested in actually taking the Stoke job....not at all.

Is there such a thing as a first team squad picture prior to last season showing us with the Championship trophy we won ?
I've had a proper good look and can't find one anywhere.


They've been a bit thin on the ground for most of us while we've been supporting The Blades and this is the only other one we've had in my time.

Behave, put yourself in his position. He will leave for a better job at some point, but Stoke in the same league as us whilst we are in with a shout, I very much doubt. I honestly expect that if we don't invest or go up this season or next then it's time for him to go as he's wasting his considerable talent with us. I'd hate to see it but I wouldn't begrudge him a move at that point.
 
Nathan Jones is a huge risk for Stoke - highly rated yes and successful with Luton but relatively inexperienced and never managed about L1.

Considering how key getting back to the Prem will be for Stoke going with him is a brave decision over others rumoured to be of interest to them (Allardyce, Moyes and even CW).

I keep seeing comments about how the boardroom need to sort themselves out otherwise Wilder will be off but nobody goes into any detail about what exactly this entails. If the boardroom were to 'sort themselves out' what would expect to happen exactly? Are you expecting them to find a whole lot of money from somewhere or something?

I don't think anyone in their right mind would expect a windfall of cash from either of the two current joint owners.....we just crave a bit of stability

I expect our owners to sort out their differences prior to the court case and sell to new owners who will retain McCabe as club president.

Are we particularly unstable at the moment? I can't say I've noticed a difference between the situation now and what it was like before the 'falling out'.

perceived instability I suppose....that concern that because of the unrest in the boardroom we could lose Wilder or not secure a decent transfer budget, (but what's new there...lol..)

I think we see things with red and white tinted specs. Wilder has done and continues to do brilliantly for us, but he also has advantages staying with us. Unless the takeover squables end with the Prince winning and bringing in his own man (unlikely, but possible) or one wins and sells on to new owners who do the same, Wilder isn't going to get kicked out for some time - even if things go pear-shaped, he'll have a long grace period.
On the other hand, Stoke, as an example, have just sacked their manager after 8 months. How long would Wilder get? What if his stats were only as good as Rowetts by the end of the season and they don't get promoted? He'd be out of a job and very possibly the only decent offers would come from L1 sides.

Fair points re long term outlook of the position. And similar for many teams nowadays where chairmen demand immediate success.
