Bang on the money.

Would be interesting yet definitely unwanted should a Man U come in for him!!
Will never happen, which is a good thing for us and even clubs like Everton are moving away from the level who would be interested. Villa possibly, maybe Wolves now, and that’s pretty much it.
If we grow as hoped, within 3-4 seasons we’d could sit among these clubs just under the top 8 safe in the knowledge that the biggest clubs won’t come in for him but we need to get to that level first.

Is the writer just well informed or one of our own?

I look forward to Porktalk’s critique of how they’ve got it all wrong and that Wilder is driven by his hatred of W*dnesday and it’s about to go spectacularly wrong tomorrow, or Monday at the latest.

What a brilliant piece. Captures exactly why we love him so much. Proudly ordinary, while also being extraordinary as well. In years to come, when I am an old man at the lane, I will talk about him like the current crop of older Blades talk about Woodward, Currie et al. He's given us something truly remarkable in our rise over the last 4 years.

Get him a fucking statue.

“there isn’t a club in the Premier League that would not be better with Chris Wilder in charge of it. Not one.”

As I’ll tell anyone who’ll listen, he’s the best manager in the league.

Wilder is probably the only manager at EPL level who can get involved at every part of a club, and enjoys complete autonomy in doing so. By the owners own admission, he even got inside the Princes head and changed his mind, once. From the tea lady and the kit man, to the top dealers in the club, he commands huge respect and his authority to do whatever he believes is right, is unquestioned.

Can anyone seriously imagine Wilder being offered that kind of scope, at any other top club, here, or anywhere else in the world?

He and Alan Knill are Sheffield United. Never break up that partnership please. I can only see frustration getting in the way, because the success has been so rapid and continuous, but frustrating for all concerned. Don’t allow a lack of funding destroy the progress already achieved, and be patient with all concerned if it takes slightly longer to get where Wilder really wants this club to be.
