McCarthy and Wilder are in touch. It was MM who recommended McG to CW. So I’d guess they had a chat and MM agreed to leave McG and Robbo out of the friendly. Egan should have featured more so, by making him Captain, MM is showing him he’s valued and will play a big part in the future.

If we're counting up where we'd like to be picking up points for the season, less than 3 points at home to Southampton is a bad result.
