Wilder said he wasn't going to bother appealing anyway so what's he on about?

I know what you’re saying but if the club take your attitude every week we’ll get shafted with all the wrong decisions. The refs and authorities have to be held accountable.

But to appeal a decision, the decision has to have been unjustifiable. To be honest with VAR I can't imagine many teams will appeal anything now, as it's effectively already been through one appeal.

Yeah, I take that viewpoint, it just pisses me off and angers me how many poor decisions and 50-50 decisions at best go against us, way too many for my liking.

Riley didn't know whether Wilder was going to appeal or not. I think the point being made is that if Riley felt the need to explain the decision in more detail, then it might have been nice if that had happened within a suitable timeframe, in order that an appeal could then be made, depending on what was said.

Despite his recent protestations, Wilder has a reputation for being very respectful towards officials. I think he needs to start playing up a bit more, because we are getting royaly shafted by officials since we got promoted.

Sad but true. No matter how fucked over we have been anyone from the Staff to the fans constantly complaining about decisions comes across extremely defensive and bitter. You can say the refs are crap and inept at the same time as criticising the team, they aren’t mutually exclusive.

You can't analyse or talk about a match with any merit if you ignore referees making bad decisions. If talking about decisions makes us look bitter, who cares, it's the price I'll happily pay to properly analyse the game.

If United had appealed and it was rejected the ban could have been increased. If Riley had rang had said it was a mistake then he could have used this in the appeal and probably would have succeeded. That is the power of Riley.

Oh yeah how dare we moan. It's totally fine that the possession for Leeds winning goal comes from them literally kicking Berge 3 times to get the ball, when the ref can not wait to give a free kick whenever a Leeds player barely gets a touch from one of our players.

Another example Sharp, blatant foul on edge of area, play on, two seconds later he does exactly the same to a Leeds player, ref blows up instantly.

So can someone please confirm that Mike Riley is from Leeds? Interesting that he didn't contact Wilder to advise whether Egan's sending off was justified or not in the week prior to playing Leeds United.

I know i can be paranoid but it doesn't mean the authorities aren't out to get me.

I can’t argue with that. In my view though, there are shocking decisions all over the league, affecting teams every week. Before VAR it was just down to the individual ref but there’s no excuse now. At best it’s ruining the game for a lot of us - at worst there is the stink of corruption about. I’d rather think it is cock up rather than conspiracy but I’m a glass half full kind of person. That said, I still fail to understand how Rugby can get it so right and football so wrong which makes me wonder.
When we’re winning and the media is back in love with us maybe a few measured comments might be appropriate but Inust don’t want to hear CW doing it now. Think back to the ghost goal, everyone went bonkers but nothing happened and Villa stayed up at the expense of Watford. If the authorities won’t change things then the players and managers have to expose the incompetence of the refereeing community through direct action. Despite their history I have a soft spot for Leeds and Bielsa after they allowed a wrong to be righted by letting Villa walk a goal in. That said, how many on here would go bonkers if we did the same thing?

It's quite simple, if you are an unfashionable club you are getting nothing. Imagine if instead of Berge it was Salah or Bruno Fernandes, do you reckon the ref and var would have ignored it?

Take for example our penalty against Villa, they literally showed VAR scrutinising it from every angle, including rewinding and watching all the build up. It literally took several minutes for them to give it. Yet the red card was confirmed within about 10 seconds. Take the blatant foul on Ampadu for a pen yesterday, defender has 2 arms on him and is holding him back, again VAR took 5 seconds to decide it was fine.

Maybe it's our own fault for being too honest, maybe we should go down and scream like we have been shot at the faintest of contact like everyone else does.
