As a supporter of the blades i all too often end up coming away from BDTBL thinking that i deserve better and that i've been cheated a little. We all sit there freezing our particulars off at this time of year and for what???
It is a question i find myself asking more and more and tonight Matthew i'm going to try and answer it for the sake of my own sanity.
Now i used to make sure i arrived in time for the kick off because i didn't want to miss one minute of the action,this however is no longer the case if i'm 5 minutes late so what. Why?
I would stay till the final whistle and berate others around me for going early and now find myself thinking 'when the fourth official puts the board up i'm off' no matter what the score is. Why?
I would sing and cheer the lads on for 90 mins, now all i can muster is the odd 'United' and 'Greasy chip butty'. Why?
I would try and show an interest in what is happening down at the club but that too is unfortunately waning. Why?
I find myself thinking that the club just does not care about fans like us, i do not feel valued by the club i support whole heartedly. Maybe i'm just getting old and turning into a winging bugger. Perhaps my relationship with my team is going through a bad patch. Maybe i'm thinking there could be better ways to spend my saturday afternoon. Or more likely is that im just fed up of watching a team that doesn't seem to want to perform for me the way i think they can.
