He had a really good game against Reading but hasn't had a sniff since. 11 to go so i would start him against Rovrum as he will be desperate to show his worth.

I thought he looked sharp but lacking in confidence against Reading so can understand why he's not played since. That said, I expect him to start against either Rotherham or Brentford.

I agree, would expect him to start against Rotherham to partner McG or Madine

I’d definitely give him a game coz Billy is fucking rubbish. Not sure who I’d start him with though coz Madine is fucking rubbish and can’t head and Didsy is fucking rubbish and can’t shoot.

And JOC is fucking rubbish apart from heading bricks and Norwood is fucking rubbish apart from passing it sideways and Freeman is fucking rubbish apart from the occasional goal....it's a good job the sum of the parts is fucking brilliant !

I think that there’s some games that BS is suited for, and there’s some that he’s not. Sometimes that is my view pre-match, sometimes as the match progresses. Pre-match I thought that Madine & Hogan to start and then BS & McG to be subbed on, when the game became stretched later on. That was due to their play as a pair against Reading, which I thought showed promise and the type of back 4 Wednesday would put out.

As the game went on last night, it was apparent that BS wasn’t getting any change from the Wednesday defenders. He was labouring and being out muscled. He was feeding off scraps to be fair, and when he’s not involved in the box, he looks like he’s struggling. He had very little impact on the game & carried very little threat. As he & Madine started, the choice was sub Madine for McG or sub BS for Hogan. Personally, I would’ve subbed BS for Hogan to increase our physicality and mobility. CW chose the other option and we did liven up and carry more threat. That’s why he manages the club, and I flip burgers in a takeaway. :) CW will do what he feels is right against Rotherham, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Madine & Hogan starting.

In any other game, Billy would have come off last night.

But he's more than earned the right to stay on the pitch in the Sheffield derby, even if he's playing shit.

We need to get back to playing the way that wins games of football that has got us to third position, especially on our own patch.

Duffy/McG and Billy to start please. I do like the options we've got now - but back to basics at BDTBL.

Baldock back if fit - he's just got more energy.

I think “We need to get back to playing the way that wins games of football” sounds a bit strong when we’ve just won 3 on the bounce including Boro ans WBA.

Last night was a one off, the Pigs away, and it was always going to be a battle like any main rivals derby is. Liverpool and Everton was exactly the same mate. I agree re the players though.

No way could we have played our usual game last night ,they just packed midfield and played anti-football. How depressing it must be for a professional footballer to be instructed to wrestle and fight your way through a game you have played at a high level for years. Welcome to Bruceball.
Shocking we’re they? And if we had played our usual came and they’d stolen all the points, Wilder would have been absolutely slaughtered, probably by the same people.

As I posted last night, they are basically just an upgraded Bolton, or a downgraded Boro. Take your pick.

I am just so glad we got to see the 'best player in the league on his day' give us a 45 minute masterclass  before he bottled it again and realised he wasn't going to dive his way to glory against us like he has with other teams.

Imagine paying through the nose to watch that lot every week. I just hope Derby wake up from their slumber and give them the monumental pasting that they're turgid team deserves.

Mark my words they’ll be a run on cabbages in S6 before long.

Although your comments are tongue in cheek, I hear this sort of thing every week from the bloke and woman sat next to me.

I thought hogan might have got the last 5 but if we were going to get a sniff of something dropping to someone at that stage you would want it to be Billy. Think hogan will play against Brentford with Madine. Didsy and sharp on Saturday

OK, accepted it might be a bit harsh and before the WBA game we would all have been happy with 4 points from the two games.
It's just a disappointment that we were met with a W'day team content on stopping our overlaps - as a neutral said today (Newcastle fan so he has an interest) Aarons played most of the game defending. We didn't seem to have a plan to overcome this. Freeman and Stevens were none existent in going forward, which shows how well the W'day plan worked.

As for Boro and WBA - we played a different style against both and we came out on top in close(ish) games. High press v Reading at home was slightly different too and yes, all successful. When we didn't have any options (pre JTW) it was easy to see what we would do - now we are playing all sorts of different ways - I hope it doesn't backfire, especially against Leeds.

We are so close - especially when everyone expected us to blow up - I suppose it's that bridesmaid feeling that I hoped we could step away from in the run in.

On to Rotherham.
