What's the reason we don't seem able to move players on and sell them to other clubs and finish up with them going out on loan and still on our books.
Whiteman-Donny
Wilson- Walsall
Hussey- Swindon
Hanson- Bury
Reed- Chessy
Long- Wimbledon
Plus any others I might have forgotten, I know we don't want to give them away but getting them off the wage bill might just give CW some leeway in this months window to do some more/better business.

How much wages (for which the loaning club will be contributing to) do you think these players are costing that will actually allow Wilder to make a discernable improvement in our first team squad? How much money do you think we'd be able to get for any of Wilson, Hussey or Hanson? If Wilder was certain that they weren't in his long term plans and there was a club that wanted to pay the right price for them, why do you think they've not already been sold?

Ever thought we’re giving them experience and seeing if they can step up to our first team...

That makes sense for Whiteman and also Eastwood if he goes somewhere. Not sure about the others though, many of them have had their chance and not made the grade.

In your mind they may have, but they’ve not all had that long, even Long having played a lot of games needs more experience.

It doesn’t harm to keep them on our books, watch them whilst they’re away from United, in a lower pressure situation and see how they get on

Chances are most won’t make it, but it gives them and us a chance to progress

Yeah, I think it's good to stay open-minded. It may be that some surprise us and come back into the fold. The main reason I say the above is simply that we're progressing quite rapidly under Wilder, and realistically it may be difficult for those players to reach upper-championship standard, when they weren't doing it in the division below. May as well develop them as much as we can whilst they're still our players though.

Say these 6 players are on approx £ 3000 per week = £18,000, multiply by 52 weeks equals £936,000 per year. even if the loaning club pay half the wages were still left with £468,000 which I'm sure CW wouldn't turn his nose up at.

I agree with you on progression, that’s perhaps why it’s good to get them out of the pressure of where we are right now and let them develop more naturally in an unfamiliar environment etc

I think the likes of reed, long, Hussey and Hanson will probably need to find new clubs, but they’re in the shop window if they’re playing so has it’s benefits too

Since we seem to sign everyone from League 1, having Wilson on loan isn't a bad thing since he wasn't exactly bad last season when he had the chance (plus if we sign Man Utd's James Wilson we can go from two Jake Wrights to two James Wilsons).

Reed, Long and Whiteman might all have fancied their chances of having a future here if they had a good season.
Hussey might not want to be stuck in League 2 for more than a season.
Hanson has barely played in months, who would want him permanently?

Cost to release will no doubt be a factor and there is also the issue that they’re contracted and if clubs can’t afford them then we have to keep them.

We’ve been a League one club for a while so our reserves/ youth are of that standard or lower.

So league two aren’t going to buy our players.

It’s like now Evans may come to us and be 4th choice but he’s a 750k player. Where as last year it was Louis Reed etc.

Lower league set up is for one year contracts and loans. The budget available to a club is so dependant on unknown factors that without a rich owner you can't plan much longer than 12 months (even 6 at some clubs). We were far too fast and loose with the multi year contracts for fringe players. This is now the price you pay

We pay well despite most people’s thoughts and the only clubs who want them can’t afford them.

We need to keep some players as cannon fodder, for when we need a scapegoat or someone to blame.
