Why/how are we the only club that never does pitch invasions?

The last big one was Northampton away. Northampton were great sports about the whole thing.

Since then the club has been extremely vocal about stopping it happening. The few that ran on the BL pitch after the promotions got a good telling off from the BL crowd. What happened at the City ground in the play offs buttressed all of the above. If that was us that did that....

I lost my finger jumping off the fence against Peterborough. We were escaping the crush 😩 Went to Darlington the week after, great last day that was 😂
Now, I think that brings back a memory.
I have a vague recollection of someone getting their finger/hand/ring (signet, not arsehole) caught on the fence as I got onto the pitch.
Maybe that was you then.

My memento of that day was taking home a little sod of turf that happily grew in my parent’s back garden for many a year, carefully tended by me.

Because 3 weeks removed from thinking we might win the league, making the play off final instead isn't an achievement worth invading a pitch for.

First time I remember being on the pitch was v Peterborough in 1982 when we clinched promotion from Div 4. Only as the entire crowd was on by that point. I was on again the following week at Darlington. About ten years back, some last home match laps of honour were delayed / spoilt by people running on and we've largely stayed off ever since.
First and only time was 98 v Coventry in the cup. I was in line with Quinns penalty and 2 rows from the front. I just joined in what everyone else was doing. Was 15 at the time.

Last time anyone did it for us was Northampton away in 2017. Watching the scenes on tv and then the images of Billy after... shows they can be done well, when it's in the right spirit... i.e. don't bother the opposition.

Ok that's one low hanging piece of fruitcake, if they can get him they should be able to issue the same punishment to anyone else who went on the pitch that day

A new twist on why pitch invasions aren't a good idea. Fan accidentally takes out the hero of the moment.
