I think the difference is that 100% of Milans fans didn't want Kaka to leave. If you listen to Blades fans I think at least 60% of them couldn't be bothered about Beattie leaving.

Just for the record, I didn't want Beattie to go, because I've got this feeling he won't be replaced by anyone. Just my opinion.

Unfortunately, I don't think we have the money that Milan has... or indeed the structure of the football club to make such a protest worthwhile.

Given the choice, I wouldn't have wanted Beattie to go. But as I said before, if Beattie was the only player who was preventing us from being "found out" then surely those problems will have to be addressed in his absence and hopefully United will become a stronger "team"... instead of "Beattie plus some other people running around".

I'm also rather blasé about it... we wouldn't be Sheffield United if we didn't flog our decent players. Just when we thought the club was becoming unrecognisable with this "Blades Way" stuff, they go and reaffirm that they are in fact the same team we fell in love with all those years ago.

Rather comforting in a way... like an old chair you won't get rid of, even though the springs are poking your arse cheeks.

I'm glad Beattie went. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed having him around but he was very much a luxury (a bloody expensive one) and I said so from day one. It was the right move to offload him. Every day this fact is proven to me more and more.

Because we don't have Silvio Berlusconi in charge of the club. Kaka will probably have been told by Berlusconi that it is in the best interests of his family if he were to stay at Milan

If selling Beatts means we get another striker (not counting Ward) along with a couple more players, I'm all for it. 4th in the league, on a great run, especially away where we've not lost since the sty, 3 home Derbies coming up, and all to play for.

Aye... it's a case of wait and see I think. No one wants to sell their topscorer but looking at the bigger picture, it might mean a better team is made out of what is left.
