Of the Beattie situation, McCabe added: "We've had an approach, we are talking to the club but no deal has been done. If the deal goes through we have a replacement all lined up but we can't say who at the moment."

Who? Lita rejected us, where next? A League 1 reject? Someone whos worth & adds nothing to the squad? The statements he makes are pure lies.

I hate the way OUR club is being run. Why take away the strongest goalscorer in a top 4 team? Not forgetting if we do get into the premiership we ALREADY had a premiership proven striker.

Pure joke our football club, not the players, but the people running it. Sort it out Blades. & fast!

he's been gone less than 24hours!

If a replacement had been 'lined up', I'm sure there would have been word by now.

Who knows. theres time yet though. We arent far off orient now, i'll see if the top class strikers are queueing up outside.

I'd take my autograph book if I were you. All the best players will be queuing up to play for us!

I reckon Mccabe jumped the gun & thought he had Lita in the bag. Nice & professional again from Utd.

What a Joke our club has becomme.

Ill be mega pissed off if its anyone like Jamie Ward.

i think everyone is being a little hasty in what they are saying. don't get me wrong, losing beattie is a massive loss especially as it seems lita has rejected a move. but if there is one man i trust to take this club forward then it is mccabe. look at what he has done for this football club. we have one of the best boards in the country and we are financially stable. look where we were 10 years ago. i dont think mccabe deserves any of the stick he is getting. the man saved utd from ruin. do any of remember that?? maybe he has made a mistake, but do u seriously want him out? lets see wot happens in the coming days and get behind the boys, starting tomorrow against orient.

I can see the point that many of the blades who have spoken or posted on here are trying to make, and i do think that the PR department have some explaining to do to the management and board, but by the same account i couldnt agree with you more..

Welcome to the Forum By the way

I'd like to think that we're financially stable, but I'm not as convinced as I was previously.

Beightons change ties in with some info ive heard tonight, lets just say its not as off as Reading say it is.

It was mentioned on RS that we have made a 2nd move for him.

BB seems to think we might be waking up to some good news tomorrow morning.

dont expect owt too early in the morning :)

dunno if we`ll convince him to move north still though.

i dont think lita wants to come to united, need to grasp that

Could that be because we don't show any ambition?

Who'd want to come to a club who are seemingly happy to build a mediocre team and just hope for a lucky break in getting Promotion.

Sorry to be so negative of late but the whole parachute payment / lack of in-action thing for the last 3 years has really annoyed me. We once again haven't shown any real desire to get back to the Premiership. Instead of going for it, we buy mediocre players (Beattie apart) in the hope the we might get back there despite having the finances from the parachute to rely on.

Like I said elsewhere, that mediocre hope approach took us 10 years and a fair bit of luck last time!

Like I said, I don't know whether we'll be able to convince him, I reckon what with his reputation etc he'll be one who wants to stay near London.

BUT, contrary to most reports, it's certainly not a dead deal yet.

Lita coming or staying has everything to do with his err, reputation for enjoying a bit of a party and jiggy-jig on the London scene and nowt to do with ambition, salary, sheffield or anything else connected with United.

I saw the replacement last night. Held the ball up well, brought others into the play, good touch and distribution, won lots of ball in the air and finished well. Step forward Greg Halford :D :D :D :D
