  • Chris Morgan;
  • Brian Deane;
  • Owen Coyle;
  • Steve Davies;

Karl Robinson MK Dons
Steve Davis Crewe

BUT DEFINATELY NO MENTION ANYTIME EVER for the ginger scum smegson !!!!!!

UTB & FTP

Why the fascination with ex players? Id rather have a great manager with an eye for a player and someone who gets the best out his squad. than an ex player who isn't as good. If i was looking around id interview managers who have done well on a shoe string budget . Because thats what he will have here ! im not against mccall if he's the best option but not just because he played for us reason .

Be careful what you wish for.

Because we have got the most parochial bunch of fans in the land! It's the same with transfer dealings. You name an ex-player - some of them will want him back.

What on earth have either Deane or Morgan done to merit becoming permanent manager of SUFC? Or Wilder for that matter.

Perhaps we should kill two birds with one stone and appoint Cotts player-manager with Stead as his assistant?

Let's be ludicrously outrageous for once, and appoint someone with no Sheffield connections whatsoever. The key is to get someone who will instil a proper footballing ethos in the club from top to bottom. Muck and Nettles, Upanatem Merchants need not apply. We've tried that.

so who would be on your shortlist?

Anybody but Owen Coyle. ~ If he is the manger I am heading for the car park, with no shoes on.

Steve Davis - Brought through some good young players at Crewe and got them playing well.

Uwe Rosler - Has assembled a good squad at Brentford on free transfers and younger loan players. Fast and skillful side, which is exactly what we aren't.

Karl Robinson - Have to say I'm not a huge fan of the bloke, but MK Dons play a good short passing game and aren't too far off the play offs this season. With a bigger budget like he'd get here I reckon he could do a fair job.

Eh? They are 14th so can't be playing that well - except when they play us, obviously...

They came up from League Two last season and have also won the JPT. Would you take finishing 14th in the Championship next season should we go up?

I don't see enough of other teams to give an educated view. I would ask the likes of Martinez and Laudrup to recommend young managers with potential who believe in the same principles as they do.

From the names I do know:
Coyle
Pemberton
Robinson (though I wouldn't stand for his touchline antics)

Not a stellar line-up but preferable to any list of 'same old' long ball dinosaurs. We've had more than enough of them. It's time to give football a chance, whatever league we're in.

As I have commented elsewhere, on the other manager thread. He just gets on my nerves.

He talks so fast and says nothing.

There are better choices, but I will have to think about that.

PS - who is that pretty lady in your avatar?

It doesn't matter whether we employ Jose Mourinho, Alex Ferguson or Rafa Benitez - they will work for the same boss as Neil Warnock, Kevin Blackwell, Bryan Robson, Gary Speed, Micky Adams, Danny Wilson - and therefore ultimately fail.

Why the fascination with ex players?
dunno mate it does my head in. some people would turn down Mourinho himself cos 'ees never stood on't kop'
how about this bayern manager.. he's out of a job next month:D

that's some list s10.. talk about mediocrity
has to be steve davies.. we have to buy into the Crewe thing lock stock and barrel

Yeah get someone with no ex Blade connections like Danny Wils .........................................Doh

He did Ok for Burnley. Its my new Dawn , I have a new one everytime we have a new manager ,French and Tony Orlandos were the last 2 ,this one is Porter.Looks like I will have another soon ,Dawn of the dead is looking a good bet :)

Could we have Danny Wilson back please. The past 3 games have shown that perhaps PASSION isn't what it is all about, and perhaps you do need more than a bit of a shouty voice to motivate players these days.

why in the world would you not want owen coyle, when theres names like wally fucking downes, chris wilder and stuart mccall being mentioned??? :eek:

im not a big fan of owen coyle, but at least hes a manager. he may do well, he may do shit. all the rest being linked are utterly hopeless.
