Who will get Sold in the Close Season?

Which members of the first team squad do you think will be sold,released at the end of this season??

Heres two:-

Hendrie
Lucketti

Anymore?
 



I think it all depends on who we get into the squad. I should hope no one is going to be sold or released without first bringing in players to cover their positions.

I hope the grapevine news that James Beattie is really enjoying his football here (the term was "loving it") will convince him to stay and convince the powers that be not to get rid for at least another season. We desperately need permanent cover in the fullback positions and the midfield has been a problem for a long while.

I suppose another factor is that we still don't know who the manager is going to be...
 
Hendrie, Lucketti, and a striker, i dont want any to go, but if i had a choice it would be either Hulse or Webber dont want to get rid of Shelton, got potential
 
Why are people so eager to get rid of Hendrie? It's beyond me.

Cus of his supposed wages and his history of being an arse. Good player when he's in the right mood though.

The one that confuses me further is many peoples want to get rid of Beattie. Even if he was lazy like people make out (in reality he's far from it), his goals alone make him an assett we should be building a team around!

He's not been given a chance to prove his worth though.

I never wanted him whilst we were in the PL, but I believe he can be a real assett in this league.

What about his wages though Foxy? ;)

I'd love to keep Beattie though, however his wages are my main concern, as it seems he is on at least double everyone else.

I heard that he took over Phil Jagielka's wage, so it isn't like his arrival prompted a massive increase in what we were paying anyway.

I've been informed by someone usually reliable, that he's on far less than most people think. Even so, i've always been a massive advocate at keeping within our wage structure... but how many goals in an underperforming team this season?

If Blackie can get the rest of em firing on all cylinders next year, his wages will be worth it for the return we'll see.
 
£30,000 keeps getting quoted but I heard Paul Walker a while a go with a rather convicting scoff at a caller suggesting that amount. I don't quite know how Paul Walker would know such things but he seemed quite adamant that it's nowhere near £30,000.
 
i think horse, hendrie + lucketti are dead certs. he'll definately want to bring 1 new striker getting rid of 2 of the following hulse, webber or shelton.

i can also see maybe squinny, stretch or law going???
 



No I'm a blade. I think that Jon Stead will go because he will probably want first team football and I just have a feeling that David will go.....but I don't know why
 
I can see stead going, simply down to him wanting first team football, carney has been linked a few times witha move away i really wouldnt be suprised to see him leave! Hendrie lucketti horsfield all fringe players that dont really have a future at the lane and will be allowed to leave cheap to free up some wages, although i still think hendrie can be a good player for us given a good run in the team.

Cant understand why people want webber to leave though??

Who cares what Beattie is on if it wasn't for his Goals we would more than Likely be deep in a relegation scrap.

Why should we worry about Wages Now we are the Most progressive Team in the League off the field & have the Biggest Attendances in the League & if we are to shake off the Small club Mentality that has Haunted us for so Long in the past we are going to have to Keep Players James Beattie.

Whilst I agree in principle, there is many underlying things that concern me.

Do you think the players will be happy that a player is getting more than double what they're getting (and that is just the higher earners)

It won't be very harmonious will it?

If we go on, keep Beattie, bring in more massive earners, it won't matter what we bring in through the turnstiles, we aren't going to be able to afford it.

It's all about matching what you can afford, and I firmly believe Beattie is a Luxury that we can't really afford.
